I'm good with this.

Honestly they should just put Norris on LTIR. Gives him three weeks to ramp up, gives us cap relief, and we can sign Pinto. Even if he is technically day to day he needs to practice and get up to game speed. Throwing him into a game at anything less than 90% is stupid at this point

It’s a confusing situation because there’s no way they put him in a contact jersey if he actually had a re-injury. He seems very close to playing, so not sure how they can justify the LTIR.

Can they not back date it? He may only need X days more but he will have missed a full year overall.

Possibly. I don’t know the rules. If it’s doable they should probably do it since our schedule to start is favourablen

Bailey released from PTO. Wonder if they revisit down the road. That could indicate the pinto signing is close too.

Norris is participating in practice with a contact jersey again. I don’t understand the hesitation to play him then. It must be a mental thing.

Smejkal optioned to Belleville. Probably means pinto will be signed shortly. I would l Smejkal to come up very soon if he does stay down there

Actually I thought macewen would be out but it looks like he might be fine, so that’s probably why smejkal was moved. If norris is LTIR then he can come back up, but I don’t think that’s likely

They should put him on the wing to start. Help with confidence and don't need to have him taking faceoffs

Well he might feel some discomfort and there’s a real possibility that a real injury could happen if he gets hit hard.
I think they need to send him ASAP to a specialist in the states.

I’m glad Bailey is gone. Dude would have been a healthy scratch a lot. I’d rather have someone from the farm team work his way into the line up.

It’s a paper move

Teams have to be cap compliant by tomorrow. Paper move. Sens only have $62K in cap space right now. Smejkal makes over $100K more than Chartier.

That Dahlin contract is making Sanderson's look like a steal

If Norris is doing full practices I don't see how they possibly justify putting him on LTIR. Right now they have $62k plus the AAV of one of bottom six, so at most just under $926K. That's not enough to sign Pinto (need $3M minimum to leave room for injury call-ups).

They can sign him then send him to Belleville (I believe he's waiver exempt). He will clearly need time to come up to speed and it will give them time to do a trade.

According to 32 Thoughts, Sens offered Pinto 2 x $1.9M and his side started with 2 x $2.5M. I think $2.5M is a little ambitious.

Seems like the Drysdale deal would be fair for both sides. I can't help but feel like Dorion did this to himself
