I figured you were suggesting Cowen needed some rest and time to acclimate not that Bingo would likely not need him and would go with a winning line-up. Of course Cowen will need to earn his spot and will likely get in when one of the current D men falters. Of course this is all assuming he is indeed assigned to Bingo. Look at Enroth. He didn't get put in until Portland's starter got pulled. If Enroth can't crack the lineup immediately after being assigned then I don't see Cowen being handed anything either.
No, you understood me correctly. The part about knowing some people doesn't overcome the part about flying across the continent after playing a game (and probably going out for a few drinks after).
Cowen certainly has the highest potential of all the D-men currently in Bingo. He has been playing in a lower league, but he is big/strong enough and fast enough to play at a high level in the AHL. I would be somewhat disappointed if he did not step into the lineup and made an impact, but the time is not necessarily now. If he plays tonight I'm not going to cry about it, but I also will not be expecting very much. He could be a 7th defenseman for all I care.
Next series, though, different story. He *should* be able to play on the top pairing by some point.
