"It's bear season!"

The Ottawa Senators (4-5-1, 9pts) finish the home stand vs. the visiting Boston Bruins (5-2-0, 10pts). The Senators are riding a modest 2-game win streak (their first back-to-back wins of this young season) after another solid performance against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night. The final score, 5-3, flatters the Panthers somewhat, as the Senators built up a 5-1 lead before taking the foot off the gas pedal in the third. The Sens will obviously have to keep that pedal down against the Bruins, if they want to have a chance at reaching the .500 level for the first time since bein 0-0-0 to start the season.

The Bruins took four of six games against the Senators last season, and have started the 2010-11 season off well on nearly superhuman effort from Tim Thomas (I'd post his stats but you wouldn't believe me). Good thing is, we solved Thomas last year and just smacked Vokoun around a little bit. Bring on the Timinator.

Latest updates:
Spezza is targetting tonight's game to return to action after missing 4 games with a groin injury. Elliot is expected to start (not confirmed) after what appeared to be an injury late in the game against the Panthers; he remained down on the ice for some time, but finished the game.

Claude Julien says he was given the green light to tell Tyler Seguin to start looking for permanent living quarters, as the rookie is staying with the big club for the season.
