(Streaks! Streaks! Get your streaks here!)

Ottawa (32-21-4, 2nd in the North East and 5th in the Eastern Conference) host Vancouver (34-19-2, 1st in the Northwest and 3rd in the Western Conference) tonight at Scotia Bank Place. The Sens extended their franchise-record-setting streak to 10, and their streak over Buffalo to 8. Elliott made 36 saves to win his 8th in a row, matching the team record he set last year, and the Sens won their 6th consecutive road game, matching another team record. Spezza extended his goal-scoring streak to 7 games, setting a new team record (removing Heatley's name from the Sens' record book in the process). Read the full recap here.

Vancouver is coming to the game after losing to Montreal on Tuesday night. On the winning goal Plekanec was allowed to whack at four rebounds without even saying "please". After the game Cap'n ou was heard top say ''Unfortunately, that last one I stopped the first four (shots), I just couldn't get - I got a piece of the fifth one, but not enough." Read the full recap here. In his previous game, Luongo was pulled after allowing an 0-3 lead to the Leafs; the Canucks eventually came back to win that affair. Does this sound like a team playing for each other?

This will have to be a huge game by Phillips, Volcheckov and Fisher.

Shut down those twins and win the game.

I know this is jumping waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead here but, should the Sens continue this streak into the Olympic break, they'll have to wait 15 days to see if they can tie the record!

Unless Washington does it first

Elliott will need to continue to be sharp as well. BTW, at the last home game (Habs game) I stood up to give the boys a standing O, when they came onto the ice, for their Franchise tying record and hardly anyone stood up. I even had my 16 month old in my arms and still stood. What will it freakin' take to give these boys a standing O? Do they have to beat the NHL record?

Also, there were some fans chanting Alfie forever Ole never. Is that new?

Washington would have to beat us first in order to get the record.

Needless to say, this must be a huuuuuge game by Philly and Volchie. Hopefully Volchenkov will be out to prove he's worth $4M+ tonight...not that I want him signed for that much GAME DAY: Vancouver Canucks @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Thu. Feb. 4. 2010 555492

They'll be at home and hopefully the sleepy SBP crowd recognizes what's happening and give the Sens the support they deserve. I also think the 3 day layoff didn't help the Sens at all and I'm sure they realize that they almost tossed that game away to the Sabres.

All that's left is to update the media links (twitter.com/nhl_sens has it all) and to update the "Latest news". Although, frankly, with all the rest of the info that Shabbs has in his blue-print, do we *really* need a "Latest updates"? Surely, between the injuries, game recap(s), media links -- is there anything else newsworthy that could possibly be added?

Anyhow, I've got to go catch the bus. Clutch, the rest is yours.

I think I mentioned that at least twice on the Buffalo GDT. They had to be rusty, no escaping it. The only thing you hope for is that you don't take too long to recover and your goalie keeps you in long-enough. I was kind of hoping it would not take a full period for them to recover, but, hey, at least our goalie was equal to the task.

Sens fans attending the game tonight better be pumped up for this. I was there last year when sens played the 'nucks, and the 'Louuuuu' chants were soooo annoying, but it was embarassing that vancouver fans were louder than us.....of course losing that game didn't help.
