Well, it's saying that he might be as good or better than what we have.

I would suggest that he could give Foligno an opportunity to get his career back on track in Bingo.

Back on track? When was it off track? He is a 20 year old kid with less than a full season under his belt on a struggling team... Foligno is fine and his play has been fine. He has the struggles most young players do in their first full season.

Playing on such a struggling team is just doing harm to his development. There are no positives to be had for a 20 year old kid with less than a full season under his belt on this team. He'd be better off in Bingo right now.

What is the kid going to learn in Bingo? Sending him down now after the hard work he has put it, playing decent and learning on the job oculd actually hurt him more than help. It can very easily have the reverse effect as well. Folingo is up here to stay and there is no reason he shouldnt be.

As for Jokinen, if Randy Robitille got put on waivers today, would you pick him up? Because there is basically no difference at all between the two. From all accounts he is leading the Swiss leauge in scoring as well. Tons of skill there, you want him? I would hope not.

I'll pass on him too. If we are going to pursue a guy with potential...let's go for Petr Prucha. He's available for cheap too.

Right now all he's learning is how to lose. Sending Foligno down could hurt, it could help.

Claiming Jokinen could help, it can't hurt.

Exactly, if Murray traded for Jokinen people would ask, "what the hell do we need him for". Just because he is free it makes him more valuable to the team? Dont think so. Same with Pruca, if Murray wanted to take a chance on him, he would have traded for him.

Guys get put on waivers for a reason and there is no cap issue in Tampa right now.

Almost every good young player has to go through this, tho', SSF, so I don't see why it's a problem. The highest draft picks regularly get picked by crappy teams who in turn get them into the line up as quickly as possible, regardless of how bad the team is. Witness Crosby and Ovechkin a few years ago. Witness Toews and Kane last year. Witness Stamkos, Berglund, Oshie, Bailey, etc. this year. It's par for the course. In fact, GMs often like to see how young players respond to the difficulties of playing on a weaker team. Are they so used to having everything come to them easily that they can't overcome the challenge? Or can they take their bumps and learn to win by losing? There's no better way to find out what your prospect is made of, and can make of a bad situation.

Saying Tampa waived him doesn't mean a whole lot IMO when you look at how bad their management is.

That's one of two mentalities.

Personally, I think you risk damaging their confidence.

Detroit, for one, does not bring up their young guns immediately. It seems to pay off for them in the long run.
