Agreed. J. Jokinen is useless. It would be nice to have him around for shootouts, I suppose, but he's soft and lazy. If you think Spezza is annoying to watch in terms of puck pursuit and board play, well, Jokinen suffers from the same problems, but with 1/10th the talent to make up for those defects.
Pass.
Yeah? Okay then. I only remember watching him in Dallas - and finding him very, very talented and quite good. It seems like everyone who goes to TB molds and dies, so I was thinking he'd be a nice pickup for next to nothing.
But if you've been watching TB (I rarely do) and think he sucks, then I'll buy into that.

For a "lunch pail" team that will be playing for a tie on many nights a shootout specialist could get us extra points in the standings on his own.

Isn't very big, and can be intimidated by big NHL defensemen. Is considered 'soft' by NHL standards, and must get stronger.

This is a no-brainer pick up. Especially because it would cost 1 million and he's an RFA this upcoming summer and he can play center or wing.
No-brainer.

a No-brainer UNLESS Murray's waiting for Rex...I gotta say, he still hasn't slowed down, if you want a top 6, wait for, and take Rechi not Jussi....
or you could always take Jussi and then Waive him when (not if) the next Bolt goes on waivers

Yeah, I've wanted Rechi for a while.

Yeah, who knows.
Hell, Murray just might make the move for the sake of making the move, hoping to shake the team up. It would give the team another option, for relatively cheap (as you say), as well as creating competition for play on a nightly basis.
I guess I wouldn't be shocked if it happened, but nor would I be excited. We're not one J. Jokinen away from turning things around. The team we have in place now has to get its Dung together if it's going to go anywhere.
Still, lots of variables to consider here. Jokinen is decidedly not a "Murray" type player. And who knows what a suddenly-nervous-about-the-economy Melnyk might have to say about bringing on more salary.
