Make it so, Bryan Murray.

I think the pecking order goes by last years draft order though (unfortunately).

Make it so.

So help me. Any other team gets in the way, I'm gonna put a very severe Egyptian curse on you.

What? There is nothing special about Jokinen at all. If the game was a shootout, then he would be the MVP. The guy is about as useless a player as anyone in the league. Wouldnt touch him with a 10 foot pole.

Seems everytime someone gets waived in the NHL people around here say, "PICK HIM UP". What purpose does he actually serve because he wont be producing here. Ill take Vermette's 5 points and everything else he brings over that guy any day of the week,

I want him, always have. I like the way he plays and he's cheap.

Maybe this way Vermette gets to stay with the team.

Looks like we're on the same page about something...

Agreed. J. Jokinen is useless. It would be nice to have him around for shootouts, I suppose, but he's soft and lazy. If you think Spezza is annoying to watch in terms of puck pursuit and board play, well, Jokinen suffers from the same problems, but with 1/10th the talent to make up for those defects.

Pass.

Btw: as far as I know, waiver order is determined by our current position in the standings. I could be wrong, but I don't think it has anything to do with last year's draft...

make a claim murray. This guy is cheap, and can be a great 2nd line player when called upon

Yeah? Okay then. I only remember watching him in Dallas - and finding him very, very talented and quite good. It seems like everyone who goes to TB molds and dies, so I was thinking he'd be a nice pickup for next to nothing.

But if you've been watching TB (I rarely do) and think he sucks, then I'll buy into that.

At 10 pts., Jokinen is about 5 points less useless than most of our forwards right now.

For a "lunch pail" team that will be playing for a tie on many nights a shootout specialist could get us extra points in the standings on his own.

Thats my understanding, too...

I, on the other hand, would pick him up. I'm rarely on the waiver wire bandwagon, but I would take a chance on him. Put him on a line with Vermette and Zubov, so we might actually have a 2nd line with some skill...

I bet you dollars to donuts he is.

I still want Mark Recchi. Quite badly. Acquire him and watch Vermette and Fisher relax a little.

If Jokinen sucks now, then go hard after Rex.

Pro-rated, just slightly above 1 million.

I do.

Jokinen played himself off that team. Yea, Halpern returning was the move that triggers this waiving, but the fact is that he's been displaced by guys like Paul Szczechura and Radek Smolenak.

Who? Yea, I know.

Then again, TB is a mess, and maybe all he needs is a change of scenery and legitimate top-6 minutes (which he wasn't getting). Best of luck to him, but I don't really see him bringing anything other to OTT than more of the same.
