To free up Sundin cap space, Gerber would go to the minors. We could see a much cheaper Elliot this year.

I am soooooooooooo excited to see Zach Smith play.

Stoked to see what Smith can do, Lee, I think he will be up and down very quickly. As soon as Picard is back he is back down unless Shubert is moved, even then I dont see how it will benifit Lee being the 7th D man.

I agree. The current guys are getting the jbo done, so unless Picard is out awhile and Lee really impresses in that time, he's going right back. Lee as the 7th man makes no sense at all.

Love the Zach Smith call up. Really excited to see him in there. I don't think it's a slight against Zubov, as I think all of these guys are auditioning for jobs. If Murray feels he can fill a job with one of these guys, it may make someone expendable and Murray would have another asset he could move.

Funny...I just posted this in another section...but to me it means either Zubov is indeed involved in a potential deal...or Z.Smith is being auditioned for his part in a deal...

It also could be that there is in fact a deal in the works for a D-man with Vermette going the other way. Barring a forward coming back, his spot will need to be filled. It's possibly that Murray wants to give Smith a look after seeing what Zubov did. If Vermette goes, which is likely, I think one of those two makes the jump.

Could be. Smith has no experience in pro except for the start of this season, right? I doubt anyone would be looking at him. Then again, we took a shot at him, so who knows.
