If he has a good game its not a stretch to maybe see him get time on the top line sat night being a right handed shot so...

Hope it works out, and a small guy that will get the time and space with Heatley and Spezza should be a good thing for the guy. He can keep away from traffic and use his skill.

From what I recall of Shannon in Anaheim, he has a bit of talent. Not sure I'd be putting him on the top line with Heatley and Spezza any time soon though. Marty St. Louis he is not (at least not yet). Then again if Vermette can crack the top line, why not give Shannon a go. A capable NHL'er he certainly can be, even if only as a 3rd/4th liner.

I don't think he has the size or physical edge needed to play on our bottom-6. I'm surprised he was called up and not Zubov or Smith.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that he already has some NHL experience...

The NHL experience coupled with the lack of scoring is my guess. I would think if scoring wasn't so much of an issue right now that we would have seen Bass.

I agree ... we have enough defensive players in the lineup. Shannon is a skill player so it's a chance to show he can do it at the NHL level.

I haven't heard anything. The Citizen has the game preview up (which might have the projected lines), but they're blocked for me at work.

Yeah I'd like to know but then again, I don't think we'll ever find out...

Going to the game tonight... Sittin way up but then again I only paid 25 bucks can't complain... Hopefully the boys come out flying and hitting anything that moves.... and hopefully keep that up for 60 minutes..

I think they'd rather keep Zubov and Smith in Bongo as they're really starting to produce.

I see Zubov coming up later this year as an injury call up...say Feb or March.

If WotLK is out, I'll be playing that and listening to the boys on the Team 1200. If not, I'll try and find a Sopcast feed. I miss going to games live.
