You cant move Vermette unless it was part of a larger package. Florida needs all the help up front they can get.

Murray should have really resigned Stillman, thats the only mistake I think he made this off season.

Don't bring them up yet! They're in a winning environment...don't waste them here. Let them keep ripping it up in the AHL.

Sadness mostly took over the sheer rage I had last night and earlier this morning...

I still dont think people realize that this team is a couple years away from the cup, and Murray is doing what he can to improve the team for then, not now.

Again, I'm not saying Spezza is playing badly, or it is his fault at all, but the smartest thing Murray might do is deal Spezza near the draft. If this team ends up with 3 first round picks this year (2 in the top 10 is a possibility) This team could be very dangerous in a few years when other teams are on the own swing.

I garentee we can lose without Spezza just as well as e can lose with him. Personally, iif the right deal came along I think we could be abetter team without him.

I've gotta agree with you on Spezza, Neely.
Imo it all depends on how the year progresses for him, but if he is still showing all the signs of being the same player, then its time to cut-and-run. He still has significant value in this league and should continue to have such value with another 70-75 game, 85-90 point season.
On the other side, I've seen flashes of brilliance from Spezza this season and if he can actually become a consistent player, then he will move himself into the untradeable category.
Again, though: If he doesn't do that, then he needs to be moved before his NTC kicks in.

The thing about GMs is that they always believe that they can use a player in a better way than they are being used. Vermette is a speedy, 40-50 point, defensive forward who is viewed to have been somewhat stiffled by the Sens depth and system. His value is still quite high - surprisingly high, for a not-so-top-6 forward.

Murray should send out the Youtube link of Vermette's skills competition goal to some GMs around the league.
