I was just curious as to who would be on Murray's radar in terms of a realistic acquisition at the Deadline should he switch from seller to buyer?

I know I would assume a D man, but who specifically would make the most sense?

Your thoughts?

Ugh.

What would we use to buy? The only things of real value are our two first round picks, Karlsson and Wiercioch.

I'd much, much rather be a seller.

I agree Heater, and this guy's name has been tossed around by a lot from people around here, I was severly impressed by his play on Monday night against Ottawa....This guy is the one we need, not Bouwmeester.

Neil to Detroit for Samuelsson.
Lee, Zubov and SJ 1st for Bouwmeester.
Kuba to whomever for a similar return to that of Schneider.

I don't see Bouwmeester going anywhere...but if he did come here, get rid of Spezza asap (draft).

Would Samuelsson really put us over the top or even provide a significant spark though?

I don't think our standing will affect anything. The UFAs are gone and we add picks. I don't see much else happening.

I don't think he necessarily puts us over the top, but he certainly solidifies our second or third line. Plus, it could be an audition of sorts to see if he'd fit in with the team and worth signing to an extension.

If Murray becomes a seller, Im not sure what he sells to be honest with you... Lee? Zubov? SJ 1st? Other than that I wouldnt be giving much away.

This team has to be closer than 13 points out to be a buyer... We can literally knock off 5 more wins in a row and we might not be closer than 10 points out. The hole the Sens dug for themselves is enormous.

Well, in that case, here's hoping the CAPS blow the Habs out of the water!!

The Sens basically cant lose a game for the next 2 weeks, and they def cant lose to Montreal on sat, thats a 4 point game right there.

The best part is: 4 of the teams from 5 to 10 are on slides right now.

Montreal: 3-7-0 (last 10)/ 6 pts
NY Rangers: 2-6-2/ 6 pts
Carolina: 5-5-0/ 10 pts
Pittsburgh: 4-4-2/ 10 pts

Even more telling.

Montreal: 1-4-0 (last 5)/ 2 pts
NY Rangers: 1-3-1/ 3 pts
Carolina: 2-3-0/ 4 pts
Pittsburgh: 2-2-1/ 5 pts

Ottawa: 4-0-1/5-3-2 (9 pts/12 pts)

And we still have two games in hand. If we win both, we've made up 11 points on Montreal alone in the last two weeks. Conversely we could lose both, but if I'm operating on trends, then it doesn't look so bleak as it did before.

We need Florida and Buffalo to start sucking rocks as well.
