Well, after attempting to calm down from last night's loss to the so-called powerhouse of the East, a.k.a. The Habs, I couldn't help but pose myself the following question: What should Murray do now?
Granted, I saw his Q & A piece in the Citizen a few days ago where he hinted that he still feels he has time to allow the teams issues to be addressed internally; but after last night, and I have to agree with The 6th Sens take, that keeping an unhappy, unstable #1 who's $3.7M salary is chocking our cap doesn't seem to be making things or their lives any easier or better. Should Murray take a chance on Elliott and put Auld as the back up and waive Gerbage? Should he attempt a move for PMD and address the Gerber issue at a later time, say in the new year? Is Vermette really working out on the 1st line?
All the questions I'm sure have answers, the problem lies with how to get the answers and put them in place so this team can move forward and KEEP their momentum going.
We've all seen that this team CAN compete for a full 60 mins, it's just that their past 2 efforts (the ones to immediately come to mind) have fallen short of a full-out 3 period competition.
I don't blame Hartsburg...yet, as it seems like his defensive-first philosophy is slowly being bought by the team; but for it to be successfull, you need to score goals and THEN clamp down to maintain the lead and choke off the opposition.
We need answers, and fast as the Sens are at the bottom of the Eastern standings and more importantly, I know they are capable of being a strong and competitive team.
