Spezza is a playmaker. Sure, it would be nice if you could stick him with Neil and he would start potting goals, but that's not the reality.

His $7M is a bargain for what he brings, but he's getting a lot of slack right now as a well paid player who hasn't been producing.

I'd like to see Smith, Shannon, Zubov, or Regin (when he gets back) up with the big club. Surely one of these guys can fit into our top-6 the way they've been tearing it up.

So, he cant produce with guys in the NHL, but yet all of the sudden he would produce with guys in the AHL.

Spezza has not proven anything other than he can put up the points on the 1st PP unit and playing with a top 3 goal scorer. How is he ANY different than a Marc Savard? He isnt.

I wouldn't mind seeing a little change on the lines tonight...or next game at least.

Harts should try Kelly on the top line again or my 1st choice would be to try Deano there.

Then, Verm can play with one or the other on the 3rd line.

Our second line is killer right now, no need to change it.

The top line ain't doing Dung right now, needs a change..Vermette doesn't seem to be fitting well there and they've had enough time to find the chemistry. It should be instant when you're playing with Spezz and Heater.

I agree, I said Winchester and Vermette should switch places, but I remember you and I thought Kelly should get up there and tell Spezza and Heatley to 'do that fancy shit' and I've got your back.

Something's gotta break those two out of their slumps.

Why would you screw with a 2nd line that seems to be producing and providing the secondary scoring we need? Spezza needs to get himself going and not screw with other players sucess on another line.

Why is that?

Because Montreal is a dirty team who is scorned right now. Just this bad feeling one of our players goes down. Likely from a boarding hit, by Lapierre likely.

I think we need to see a fight early on, Neil and Laraque.

I also predict we will have to endure some Spanish.

I'd rather not see Laraque and Neil fight, let Laraque look for a fight and get called for roughing or instigating. We have no use for fighting him, and he'll be useless to them if nobody fights him. That hurts more. And, if someone does get hurt on our team from a boarding hit, they'll be suspended for quite sometime, and Montreal will be looked at very closely as an organization if 2 suspensions happen within days of each other.

I don't think any crap like that will happen tonight, they'd be stupid to start anything.

I think the Sens have been playing a more tough game this year. If Montreal tries to play dirty, we have a lot of players that can remind them we don't appreciate that. And not in a nice way.

So, what are the predictions for tonight? 5-2 Sens is my guess. A point for Spezza on every goal. It could be a higher score, but I'm not too sure. 6-2 is as far as I'm going to go...

I can't predict who will score though, it could be anyone.

It's either 5-1 Habs or 5-1 Sens, there's no in between I don't think. Auld needs to be big and hang tough. And if we don't play suffocating, grinding hockey, the fairies on the Habs will be all over us.

Very true Heater. It could go either way with the Habs...I am so scared to play them, but we have some Habs killers on our team. Have we played Price yet? I can't even recall...but I guess for him, after having such a terrible game against the Leafs, he'll probably stand on his head. *here's to hoping he doesn't :drunken: *
As for Auld, I have no reason as of yet to think he'll let in more than a max of 3 goals. If we can score 3 or more, we're golden I think.

Spezza could demolish them on his own, he's got a lot of mouths to shut tonight.

Only one that he cares about though - and that's his coach.

We played Price last year, 3-2 we won I remember. Was that the only time?

Initial post:

Every time I went to the Bell Centre, Habs blanked the visitors.

And I'm going tomorrow (prestige, section 122, BB, seat 9); I'll have a black pinstriped shirt

I guarantee a shutout

3-1 Ottawa

Tight game, defensively responsible. Auld stands tall and makes Gerber look like the big sack of useless Dung that he is.

Alfie scores two, Heatley pots the other, and Spezza gets a pair of assists (I guess one would have to be on the PP for this to add up).

Hopefully the top two lines look good, but I'm hoping we can get some good physical play from the bottom six.

That's freaking hilarious!!

I'd like to know what game he's talking about...I can't recall being shut out by the Habs...maybe once in the past 2 years...
