Thought I'd get this started early...

The Sens roll into Montreal on Remembrance Day to face the Habs who are coming off a sobering loss the Leafs on Saturday night. They'll surely be itching for a win, as will the Sens after their loss to Carolina... a game they could have won.

Hartsburg has publicly called Spezza out asking him to step up his game, hopefully we'll see a big game from him as well as Habs-Killah Alfie.

From TSN's Ice Chips: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=11009

Alex Auld will get the start in net Tuesday when the Senators face the Canadiens. Carey Price will get the call in goal when the Canadiens face the Senators on Tuesday. - TSN

Go Sens! Make this a Chris Neil/Jarkko Ruutu pestering - followed by a Spezza-Heatley-Alfie killing!

No injuries to report for either team. Kostopoulos will be out of the line-up as he begins his 3-game suspension for his hit from behind on Van Ryn.

That was a brutal hit and I am glad they suspended him. I have a feeling that the Sens will come out with both barrels blazing tonight and get us a win. Auld is proving to be a better goalie than Price, at least so far this season, so as long as our D keeps it tight we should be OK. Go Sens Go!!!

Mark Messier was on Hockeycentral @ Noon yesterday with Kraig Nienhuis and they were talking about the days before all this clutching and grabbing was clamped down on. They said, back then, if you saw someone making a bee line for a player who was against the boards and had his back to the incoming player, they'd grab them and slow them down, essentially preventing these crazy hits from behind that we're seeing.

Now, you can't touch any player going by. They've created a different issue by cleaning up another.

It was an interesting perspective.

Did not know that. It is just like icing. Do you put a rule around that too? I am surprised that no one has been really hurt yet when trying to touch up the puck for icing. I am not sure where I am sitting in that debate though.

As per TSN, Hamrlik should be in the line-up tonight for the Habs.

Defenceman Roman Hamrlik was a last minute scratch Saturday after
sustaining an undisclosed injury Friday in Columbus. Hamrlik took part
in Monday's entire practice and coach Carbonneau says he sees no reason
why Hamrlik won't play Tuesday. - TSN

GO SENS GO!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing a little change on the lines tonight...or next game at least.

Harts should try Kelly on the top line again or my 1st choice would be to try Deano there.

Then, Verm can play with one or the other on the 3rd line.

Our second line is killer right now, no need to change it.

The top line ain't doing Dung right now, needs a change..Vermette doesn't seem to be fitting well there and they've had enough time to find the chemistry. It should be instant when you're playing with Spezz and Heater.

I still think Vermette's days are numbered as a Sen. If he doesn't fit on the top unit and our 2nd line is killer without him...how do you pay a guy 2.75 to play on the 3rd line?

Trade Vermette & ______ for J-BO and then go get Comrie at the deadline for half his salary and let's see what we can do from here on out.

Then next year, we are SET with our young lads coming up through the system...there won't be room for Vermette at all anymore. Guaranteed.

Well, where is Spezza in all this? He should be making Vermette better honestly. I think Vermette has played like garbage up there but Spezza hasnt been helping the guy out. The only time Spezza is creating any offense is when Heatley is open or on the PP.

Spezza really limits this teams options because he doesnt have the ability to play with anyone else but Heatley, so what do you do?

I disagree ... I just don't think Vermette has been a very good pass option. If he is open then Spezza will find him on the ice.
