GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Montreal Canadiens - 7:00pm ET - TUE. Dec. 7, 2010
"Habit forming?"
The Ottawa Senators (12-14-2, 26 pts) visit the Montreal Canadiens (17-8-2, 36 pts) at the Bell Centre. Ottawa is coming off a 3-1 victory off the impressive goal scoring of one Chris Kelly who provided all the offense for Ottawa in achieving his first hat trick of his pro career. Leclaire received a dose of good luck for once getting the start in this one after Elliott suffered an undisclosed injury at the end of the Buffalo game on Saturday and seized his opportunity by making some key stops and only allowing the Rangers one goal in the victory. The Habs are coming off a 3-1 victory of their own against the Sharks with Montreal fans joining in the Heatley hate fest.
Montreal, 6-3-1 in their last ten, are on an opposite trajectory to Ottawa who are 3-6-1 in their last ten and look to keep the good times rolling at the Bell Centre Tuesday night. Bobby Butler will likely see some more top six action tonight vs. the speedy Canadiens and he should look a little more comfortable and rested after having played 3 games in 3 nights. The pessimist in me sees Kelly's hat trick as an issue of severe lack of primary scoring rather than a sign of good things to come but, I hope I'm wrong. It will be interesting to see if the Rangers can again be the catalyst for a Sens turn around as they were last season.
