Nah, I think Kara said "I hear Ottawa is nice in the summer" and that was that.

Pretty ugly loss last night. It scares me that Chabot continues to play close to 30 minutes a night. Forbert led the way for Winnipeg with 20:31. Maybe this should be used as the barometer for proper deployment in Ottawa. Have Chabot playing closer to 20 minutes, or at least sub 25. We're at least two years away from Sanderson and I don't think it's fair for Chabot to continue carrying this load.

Nice to see Dzingel continue to score and put up points. Anisimov too. It's going to be a weird trade deadline. With most teams having both cap and roster size issues, I think the Sens will need to take on a player in order to move a player. As a complete hypothetical, say for instance St. Louis wanted to add Dzingel, the Sens would probably need to take on Bozak's contract and receive a pick back in return. Here's where Ottawa has a ton of leverage and can weaponize that cap space, but I just don't see it happening...

I am hoping the Sens are aggressive and try to add. Vince Dunn makes a lot of sense here and *maybe* St. Louis would be willing to take a chance on Logan Brown + something else. Probably not though - Logan Brown is as worthless a prospect as they come right now

Yeah, it'd be nice if we had other decent defencemen that could take some of the load of Chabot, but we just don't.

A friend of DJ's.

I wonder if this is a demotion for Pierre Groulx. I imagine it is. Not worth firing a goaltending coach if you can utilize him elsewhere.
And we know how much the org likes to select a goalie every draft, for better or worse.

I don’t mind the logic of selecting a goalie every draft but when the prospect pool is pretty deep like it is now, I’d rather that philosophy not come at the expense of a 3rd rounder and a late rounder.
I’d much rather we try to hit some home runs with so boom or bust forward picks.

Tenders take so long to develop that most of the late bloomers are usually on the second or third team by the time they develop (example Dieger, Anderson to name a couple) so is it really that important to draft tenders early? Unless they are looking like stars in the making?

Murray, Hogberg, Daccord, Gustavsson, Forsberg, mandolese, sogaard, finnish guy. We have enough in the system .

they will draft a goalie every year. Makes sense to keep it stockpiled for the future.

I think it's pretty smart to take a goalie each draft just to hedge your bets a little.

Was working with D'Accord's Dad out in Arizona previously as well

I guess... until you have a situation like we do now where we have four NHL ready goalies - arguably five: Murray, Hogberg, Forsberg, Gustavsson, Daccord.

Forsberg and Hogberg probably won't be back, and there's a chance Daccord or Gustavsson get taken in the expansion draft so maybe this position of riches will be depleted come next off-season. Meanwhile that Murray acquisition is looking worse and worse with unproven guys keeping the Sens in games.

I think Hogberg is getting the nod tonight. Curious to see how he does. Looked good in Belleville

Sure, but should we be using high-ish draft picks when our system is pretty full?

No I don't think we'll use a high (round 1, 2, or 3) draft pick in the next couple years on a goalie.

2nd to last... trying to see the positives. Can we possibly still draft top 3?

This draft is pretty wide open. No clear cut #1. I'm honestly happy with anything in the top 8.

Will get one of: Powers, Hughes, Clarke, beniers, Guenther, edvinsson, Eklund, Johnson, lysell. Don't want Raty or Wallstedt and would prefer not to draft a LHD but I'm losing a little faith in Brannstrom personally. Nothing to do with his skill but his size a big problem.

I have my preferences. Especially if we hope the sens don't get swayed into drafting a Dman.
I'd like first crack at Eklund or Johnsson. Bernier, not so much.

I sort of want to pick up Turris off waiver. Weird ?
