So Kalrsson goes under the knife eh.... that’s interesting. Advantage goes back to the sharks to resign him.
IMO.
Im sure they’ll be 3-4 teams in there trying to sign him.
I always thought Vegas would circle back but apparently they look to be out of that running. Maybe if the other Kalrsson gets traded and Glass is ready they might offer him a cheap deal. Doesn’t look feasible now anymore.

Spezza not being able to help us? Who cares! We're not trying to win next year. He could help us *lose* while teaching White and Brown and Chlapik how to win face-offs and what to do on a PP. Then he can be a player coach the following year, and full-time after that.

I already said this before how Spezza after on the bench with the younger players. He talked and *they listened*.

Very valid points. I suppose the athlete in me still wants this team to be competitive next year hence why I didn't see how he fits in. The other side of my agrees with you 100%

Same here. 100%. Duchene fills a bigger hole. Chabot, Wolanin, Brannstrom are the future on D. Need a vet RHD to replace Ceci. De Melo, vet, Jaros on the right. JBD in 2 years.

Sens can draft Lavoie, Suzuki, Seider or McMichael and I'll be happy. There is goalie expected to go late 1st rd. Hopefully he slips to the Sens 2nd rd pick. Get Graham Clarke later in the 2nd. Successful draft for me.

Apparently Steve Warne tweeted that he heard something about. Someone literally asked if he heard the rumors and he said "yes".

Suzuki would be good, I’d be happy. Seider could be a bust, Lavoie is just a few days shy of being a 2018 draftee. We won with Tkachuk once being close to over age, I wouldn’t try that twice with a 1st rounder. He doesn’t speak « can’t miss » too me.

Agreed with Seider. I guess it depends on how the draft unfolds up to that point. Suzuki's knock is that he is a perimeter player. I watched quite a few Knights games and think McMichael is fantastic. But he's on the small-ish side. Once you pass the top-ten every player has a positive and negative side I guess. I'm curious to see what Dorion does with all these extra picks. And there are a few prospects (Chlapik, Lajoie, etc) and players (Ceci, Smith) that could be packaged to move up or out. As long as he doesn't draft a LHD.

The goalie I am thinking of is Spencer Knight. He put up some pretty impressive numbers in the USHL. Could fall to the 2nd rd for sure. He's apparently been quite impressive at the combine.

As for Spezza, I really don't see where he fits in aside from being a veteran. He's no longer a top-six forward and he is poor defensively. Too many 3rd line centers already in the lineup. Happy to bring him in as a coach, but not as a player. He should sign a contract with a contender and play on their 3rd or 4th lines and be a PP specialist.

If the Sens want to hit floor, trade Ceci + for another RFA and overpay. Trouba would be great. Or bring in someone like Hainsey, Gardiner, etc on a 2 year deal. We need that more than we need Spezza.

I think there is a 0% chance that Spencer Knight falls into the 2nd round.

I ran into Marc Bergevin at my friends Tattoo shop an hour ago. I didn’t dare ask him what he felt Karlsson’s plans were for FA. Neither would he have told me.

Edit: right now he looks like a bum. You would hardly recognize him. Got something like a beard going, looks rough. Probably will need to shave all that before the draft. Apparently my buddies tattoo a lot of the habs players. They don’t brag about it. Gives the shop more cred to keep low profiles on who walks in there. None of them are real sports fans so that probably helps.

Still, I’m usually a wise cracking fella when put into this situation and I kept my mouth shut. (Wish I’d been in there for my sens tattoo but that’s another story)

I’m actually a big fan of this move. For what he had and what he had to deal with I always thought he did a great job in Long Island. Great move by the org!

I honestly can't see Karlsson ever going to Montreal and it would be a huge risk for them IMO.

I don’t see Karlsson accepting unless they were willing to go over 12 mill a season. I don’t think they’re that desperate. Bergevin is a decent GM. Made some stupid moves but they all do. Sure redeemed himself this season on trade scenarios.

If he worked in a smaller market with less scrutiny he’d be so much better.

New Reddit rumor.

"Friend who works for the Sens says Melnyk will be selling the franchise" - They say they were in a meeting with senior management the other day and he mentioned in closed doors that he would be selling.

Take it for what it is

Don’t know anything about the kid but I imagine he’s Belleville bound. We didn’t have many returning Dmen in Belleville so I imagine they are filling out the team.

I’m gonna need a little more to actually put faith in that. And also, if it was that badly guarded a secret we would likely start seeing reports from media types no?

They could very well be waiting for the playoffs to end. Me - I am not reading into any of this and am posting what I read and hear.

I know two 10+ years season ticket holders who cancelled their tickets this year. Drop in the bucket I know, but when the die-hards are no longer renewing there are problems. If Melnyk doesn't meet gate minimums, what hope does he have to turn a profit given the pending lawsuits and loss of LeBreton. He's toast.

I agree 100% on what you’re saying. I also appreciate you coming in here and posting rumours. I don’t hear of any and spend little to no time on other hockey bords so it’s better than nothing. Simple logic dictates that Melnyk should sell his investment before it costs him more than he can get long term. It’s a simple cash flow analysis to see if he gets above the internal rate or return.

Now if he has half a team doing it’s job on the business side of things they can tell him that. Wether he listens is another story.

Krebs just tore his achilles, so maybe there is a chance he falls to us. Maybe. Wishful thinking.
