Or.... it’s just the same old lip service that’s gotten us here. I remember Melnyk saying he’d spend when we were competing. We make it to the final four, lose methot and the extra guys we picked up. Instead of going out there and spending to get players who could help us maintain that success he relies on cheap rookies and they just turn turris into duchene.

That is NOT spending when the time is right. Melnyk is a Dung machine. A fraud of an owner. He’d been better off never saying anything at all.
I swear nothing will go right in Ottawa till he’s gone.

I like this trade more than I like the Duchene trade. It also signifies that Winnipeg is probably out of the Stone sweepstakes.

At this point I hope Stone goes to Philly. They have picks, cap space to re-sign him, high-end prospects, and now have to compete with a loaded Columbus not only this year but going forward. And they're outside of a playoff spot so that 1st would look pretty good.
I don’t know that I see philly doing this now.

Im secretly hoping that Vegas wins this one. Worst case, just get us a 1st, a conditional 1st and Glass or Brannstrom. Get quality Dorion!

Cant do it.  Just can't.  You sign or you trade.

Absolutely you trade him. No matter what at this point. I'd offer 8x10 because you can at this point but if a good trade pops up before he accepts an offer he's out of here. Burn it to the ground.

Dorion's best trade as a GM will be a Ceci trade no matter what the return.

Stone would be of interest to non playoff teams as well. I know it's dumb but I'd maybe keep him until after the Lebreton mediation ends on Thursday

Ev, it doesn't matter what happens at these LeBreton meetings. It won't change Stone's mind if there is going to be an arena downtown. Melnyk is leasing the building from the sounds of it. He has debts to pay off. It's not going to help the team spend to the cap. I look at the 2021 'spend to the cap' statement as his timeframe to sell in the next 2-3 years. I imagine Dorion will make moves in the off-season to acquire players on LTIR to get to cap floor. Leafs will need to move Horton's salary for sure....

Lebreton would add lots of money and value to the longterm future of the team, if the issue with Stone is money. I don't know if it's money or if it's Stone not wanting to be in a rebuild. Who knows.

At this moment Stonecould draft his own contract for the sens to keep him. It’s not about money. It’s about what the future of this franchise holds and whether he believes ownership can keep its word. I certainly don’t tryst them

Well some think it's just about the signing bonuses. I don't believe any rumour I read anymore after all the Melnyk selling stuff.

They or Vegas have some great pieces. Getting Dobson and wahlstrom from the isles would be a coup, add a first and we’re laughing. I just don’t see Dorion pulling that one. I bet the isles are pushing hard to trade Ho-Sang. I’m not sure that’s a guy I want in Ottawa.

You’re right, can’t focus too much on one or another rumour. You can take the whole and see though that him resigning is probably not an option.

you would never get that, that's a huge price. One of Dobson or Wahlstrom, maybe.

Cliff Pu to Florida for future considerations.... that skinner trade looking worse and worse for Carolina... but you gotta hope for Buffalo resigns Skinner.

On the outside chance that a late push from Calgary, Vegas, Nashville and NYI maybe, but that’s not Lou’s style to do that. If stone comes resign though that’s a return for value and adding a strong presence to lead that room. But no, not bloody likely hahaha. I’m pulling a DefenceWinsChanpionship here (no offence DWC, but you like them very optimistic Laugh1 )

After the price for Hayes I think it's not unreasonable for the Isles to pay a first, one of Dobson or Wahlstrom and a conditional pick if Stone signs or the Isles go deep in the playoffs.

Ho-Sang and Duclair. And the Sens try and pretend they like character.

If this happens, literally everything Sens managment has said for the last 5 years has been dung.

It’s weird that the analysts have said the chances Dorion gets a return for stone are deminishing but it seems quiot from Calgary, Vegas, the isles and Nashville. They have to pull a trigger. They will all add someone. Yet, nothing so far. I’d hate Calgary to win since IMO have the weakest assets and we’re not getting another tkachuk. Which likely means with my track record they will likely get Stone.

The big hold up could be (and I hope) the agent is negotiating an extension with the an acquiring team.

i'd say Ho-Sang is way higher on the spectrum though. He's not even in the NHL.

In what spectrum? I think Ho-Dang will likely be an NHLer but they are really trying to mature his flaws ou of him especially with Lou at the helm.
Ho sang is taking the long road to the NHL. Not accepting to work on his flaws, thinking he’s being held back. It’s Kane all over again. But he’ll be an NHL too 6 IMO. Just not without growing pains.

But I don’t think it’s in the sens best interest to stick that in our locker room.

They're trying to get these guys' value back, then trade them again next year, I bet.
