2015 - CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game 2015
2016 - Second All-Star Team
2017 - First All-Star Team
2017 - Emile Bouchard Trophy (QMJHL Defenceman of the Year)
2017 - Paul Dumont Trophy (QMJHL Personality of the Year)
2017 - Guy Lafleur Trophy (MVP - QMJHL Playoffs)
2017 - World Junior MVP
2017 - World Junior Best Defenceman
2017 - World Junior All Star Team

Even if he plays managed minutes as a third pairing  d-man, he's a huge asset to have on the powerplay. I can't say the same for Claesson. Don't get me wrong, I like Claesson a lot but I think Chabot will have more of an impact than him.

If there is a way you fit both then sure. Phaneuf can play on his off-side.. But we still have too many d-men on the left, and there is no way Chabot spends the whole year in Bingo so room needs to be made.

All this to say, we are more than fine without Ceci...

We could lose one of any of our defencemen not named Karlsson and be fine.

I still wouldn't hand him anything. I didn't watch any memorial games but I heard that people expected more from him than he delivered. Unless he is lights outheads above most, I'd start him in Belleville next year. MYbe play half. YeR before calling him up. It be good for Belleville, it be good for his development and it be good for all the other Dman that have made it this far. Even karlsson whent the AHL route.

Fine is taking it a little lightly. Methot has played very well with karlsson. Ceci has played big minutes and Dion has been solid. Of course we don't know if claesson could jump in and replace Methot (example) but those are stretches. As for Ceci, i didn't think wideman played well enough in the playoffs to think he could take ceci's minutes effectively, and Harpur who's a natural lefty isn't there yet or ever to play top 4 righty. I wouldn't go as far to say we'd be fine.

Not Phaneuf IMO. Remember how the D crumbled before we got him?

Karlsson played 12 games and had 11 assists in Bingo. He followed that up by having 26 points in 60 NHL games after his call-up.

Our D that year included: Karlsson, Kuba, Phillips, Campoli, Volchenkov, Picard, Carkner, Lee, Sutton, Cowen, and D. Smith

Chabeau will be a star in the future. But for the present , what makes us fine without Ceci are Harpur and Claesson.

So... we keep talking about needing help on the LW and... hes not my first choice but he apperently won't cost much in a trade... and depending who you talk to his price tag might not be super high without super long term. You guessed it, kovalchuk.

I know, it be a hell of a risk.

So according to Friedman the sens have asked Dion to move his NTC. Im assuming that means there will likely be no trade of Ceci this off-season if they are successful in convincing him. Friedman suggest they will try and convince Vegas with a sweetener to pick someone else than Dion. That's seems like a good idea but who? I believe wideman is a possible target since he's a RD but After this off season they might be interested in Claesson. I'd prefer losing Wideman but it does leave us thinner on the right side which isn't ideal. Do we just trade for a righty? Although Dorion has shown he can be active, I'd like the off season focus to be on acquiring a top LW

Why would he want to sign here once the trade is done though? I think Montreal is perfect for him.

If we lose dion we're in worse shape than if we lose methot. Such a strange thing for Dorion to do. Sweeten the pot for them not to take methot, screw messing with dion.

I also firmly believe claesson is going to be a solid blue liner for years to come.

Dion's contract is said to scare some. But I could see him getting picked up by Vegas for Vegas. Probably more teams would likely try to entice Vegas to pick up methot so Vegas then trade him to them than Dion and that's likely where the scare is.

How is it strange? Asking him to waive is the right move. He won't get picked up.

Yeah, there is a 0% chance of Vegas taking Phaneuf.  No one wants that cap hit for the next four seasons. Any team in the league would take Claesson or Wideman off our roster before Phaneuf. I just hope he understands that this is the best for the team and agrees to waive.

You say that now, but if he does as a veteran leader for their blue line, Dorion Cussed up LARGE.

Don't see how that would be considered a Diddle up. You would lose Dion's salary and could replace him via trade or signing. Either way, Sens win with Dion waiving his NMC.

Yeah, SpezD, I gotta say you've lost your mind here. #1, there's no way Vegas would take Dion's contract. None. And #2, if they did, that wouldn't be much of a loss for our Senasnores. Wideman, Harpur, Claesson, free agency, etc.
