I can't see us getting Duchene or anyone of that ilk.  I hope that's wrong, but I think it might be one of the 3 d-men for a kid who's about ready to step into the nhl and produce and not draft eligible.

If we move either Phaneuf or Ceci we could the up losing two dmen. If Chabot makes the team put it camp - which is still an "if" - then we have room for one. We don't know if Claesson can play 82 games the same way he played 33. It certainly looked like Harpur wasn't ready for staying in the lineup for a long stretch. I'm a little worried about Boro, to be honest; the way he plays it's a matter of time before injuries slow him down. Englund and Jaros aren't even where Harpur is.

So, bottom line, we can ill afford to loose two. Safest move is not to make any trade except the one to get the Knights *not* to take a particular player. Or maybe a D for D trade to swap a leftie for a rightie.

The more this unwinds the mores I fell like the safe move might be to do nothing.
Yeah, that means I'd rather lose Methot over Phaneuf. He may be older but maybe he's more versatile. Or maybe I have faith karlsson can adjust to another Dman. Or maybe Vegas has an interest in claesson or Dzingel.

It does indeed look like Methot is gonna be left unprotected.... unless they go 8 skaters. That would be dumb. I can live with losing Methot. Maybe they swing a separate trade with Vegas to get another Dman. Lets wait and see.

Why would Vegas, who are going to be bad for five years, get a steady but unexciting defensemen who is making closer to $5M? Spend money on offense, it will sell tickets much better than a stay at home defensemen.

If I were McPhee I'd take Ryan of I needed to get to the floor, Wideman if I wanted a puck carrier, Claesson if I wanted an all around D, Smith if I wanted an all around F.

There is no good reason for taking Methot on a team like the Knights.

I imagine Dorion will try and make a trade with Vegas to also protect Methot, but whatever. They didn't give away any of their D for anything stupid (like Montreal), so that's nice.

Who do you think will be taken? Ryan is the biggest make on that list, also the biggest price tag. If they have trouble reaching the floor that's their guy. If not, I think they will grab Wideman or Borocop.

Really? You don't think Methot is a possibility? I used to think he might not get picked up but with a few teams reaching agreements with Vegas I'm not so sure anymore.

I think for me the possibilities are (in no particular order)
Methot
Ryan
Claesson
Wideman

I don't see Vegas picking up Bork but by all means if that's who they want go ahead. He's a toug competitor but by no means essential to this team.

I just don't think Vegas will be a team that's looking to get better defensively. Why bother. They will lose a lot of games so might as well lose in an exciting way.

You keep thinking that they are trying to pick players for their team. At least 7 players will get traded from whatever expansion roster t(if not more due to FA singing and side trades) hey are picking from. They are gonna go after BPA in most case.

The more I think about it the more I think the sens are hoping Ryan gets picked up. It's not a question of exposing him because they don't think he gets picked up but more a question of hoping he gets picked up. Because why on earth would you expose dzingel? If you think Dzingel might get picked up than that would ultimately protect methot from getting picked up.
I guess we have our answer on how the sens feel about Ryan.

So if we lose methot should we be offering our first round draft pick for Enstrom(who I imagine is getting picked up from Winnipeg)
Im not sure if we can fill the top 6 LW position from trade.
But an Enstrom karlsson duo would be nice.

Or we could try to throw some money at Alzner too.
