They are 29th in the league in home attendance, averaging just over 12K per game. Fans hate the new arena because of the bad sight lines and traffic.

The Flint Firebirds' coaching staff was fired by the owner, who apparently did not think his son -- a 16-year-old D-men with the club -- was getting enough ice time. After the coaches got fired all the players -- including the owner's son -- handed in their jerseys and quit. They apparently wrote on a blackboard that they would return if the coaching staff returned.

You have to give the team a few years to switch things around as far as getting new fans from the area. It's not relocation really but kinda.wprager wrote:So the Isles' on-ice issues (holding on to that last Wildcard spot) are the least of their concerns. Lower in status, or just short?

The new arena is terrible for hockey though...some of the seats don't give you a view of one of the nets. Atrocious.

I've heard that some seats have a load-bearing post in the immediate view (instead of, y'know, a hockey rink). Not great.

Oh that's awful! Hahaha. Not much you can do about that. But apparently they knew all that when they chose the location. Ridiculous.tim1_2 wrote:spader wrote:tim1_2 wrote:Flo The Action wrote:You have to give the team a few years to switch things around as far as getting new fans from the area. Not coming here. Staying west coast or NYC.SpezDispensed wrote:He's 400 years old, but he'd look good on ZBad and Ryan's left wing.
