Turris, Stone, MacArthur, ryan, zibanejad, Hoffman, michalek pageau, Lazar, Smith, Neil, chiasson, puempel, prince

I think Lazar could actually start in bingo. First time I'll admit that.

We really need to make room for these two.  At least to have them both on the NHL roster.

Puempel is the better prospect. Prince will have to wait his turn.

I'm not sure they'll re-sign Chiasson either. Or he might be in the AHL too for all I know. Could be a stacked team down there/

He's waiver eligible tjough.

One of Phillips, Cowen or Wiercioch is going to have to go prior to camp. My preference is Phillips or Cowen, but who knows.

I can't see The Sens trading Phillips or sending him to the minors. Just can't see it.

He just signed

No I meant that wideman's huge ahl salary will likely disuade other teams from claiming wideman when we have to waive him.
If he impresses enough I doubt we'll have to waive him. Guy like chris Phillips are probably the guy that might be convinced to retire if he doesn't see any ice time after the start of the season.

No one retires like that if they don't have to.  2.5 million bucks?  No retiring for Phillips.

I personally hope he bounces back from surgery and helps make the team better in a more limited role.

Bang on!

Wait, were you talking about Phillips or Cowen? Not that it matters.

Puempel is ranked ahead of Prince (I think -- especially given how Prince only got 2 games) but when you look at their stts i 2013-14, both had 48 points, but Prince was a +23 while Puempel was a -11. Also had significantly more penalties -- I think this is what puts him over Prince, as he plays a more aggressive game.

I can see him being told he needs to make a decision on whether he wants to be in the pressbox most nights, go to Bingo and be a mentor or retire.

This business is about winning and clearly Phillips is not one of the best 6 on the team.

He's not going to retire, that's for sure. If they move him into a video coaching duty then can he still collect his salary? Maybe make him a player-coach (who doesn't play). But bottom line is there *will be* injuries so there will be games to split up between the bottom 4.

IMO it is obvious that the only reason they signed Wideman to a 600K/400K two way, is that it may take into the early season to jettison one of Phillips, Cowen or Wiercioch. The Sens don't willingly pay AHL players 400K, they plan on him being in Ottawa most of, if not all of the year.

By the way, Buffalo is looking for LH Dmen, if they strike out in FA we may have a taker for one of our excess without having to take back salary.

Hodgson and Stalberg on unconditional waivers. No, SD, no.

Remind TMurr that Cowen is almost as tall as Meyers.

I think BMurr is hoping to get the coveted top 6 forward in a trade by packaging Hoffman, Wiercioch/Cowen and either pick/prospect/both. I can say with almost certainty that there will be no Williams or Sharpe coming.

PRetty much. He will be here most if not all year.

Sharp won't be coming. They want value for him that we can't spare. Williams to Pittsburgh makes more sense than Williams to ottawa.
Is glencross done?

The Ottawa Senators don't need depth forwards. Let's roll with our guys.
