Cameron said in a presser earlier this week that Lazar would be here for the rest of the season.

Chiasson and Borocop draw back into the lineup.

He already did that before the season started.

I just don't get it why. He's not hurting this team but he's certainly not the difference between winning and losing, or even getting the loser point and not getting it. And I can't imagine scoring 2-3 goals in pretty much a full season would do wonders for his confidence.

Waste of time playing junior especially on a non contender

To add to that it's an absolute waste of time sending him back to junior, there's literally no upside to it from a development stand point. Business I kind of get but that's it.

Talking Chris Neil PIM's which IMO is a good thing. Not lazy penalties, not stupid ones, ones that change the momentum of a game or keeps the other teams thinking about things other than the game being player. There will always be a role for that type of player but he needs to mature a little and find comfort in that role.

Chris Neil with more offense and more size isn't a bad thing but those would have to be the expectations.

Believe they also played on the Petes together for a year or so, no?

I think if you have won a Memorial Cup and 2 WJC's, you have pretty much done it all. Best case would be Bingo to somehow make the playoffs, though I'm not sure he would qualify. If he had played this year in junior, I think he would have been eligible to go to Bingo for playoffs once his junior season had ended. That junior/AHL eligibility thing is messy.

I think most of us would agree that Lazar would have been best served by a year in Bingo.

Meh, smart. Teams out of the playoffs will be selling, not buying and he knows Murray won't ship him off to Toronto or Edmonton if they do come calling.

100%. The cost of a mature teen I guess.

He won two? They won their first one in four (five?) years a month ago.

It's not ideal, for sure, and they need to really think about changing the rules of eligibility. But Lazar has done nothing in the NHL this season except pick up a paycheck and smile. There were guys more deserving of the ice time he was getting and I don't know what he learned, really. The team has been just this side of mediocre and he's been part of it all the way. With 2 goals in 36 games I don't know if you can call his performance as anything *but* mediocre. No, he was not expected to come in and score 25 goals, but the reason he hasn't gotten the goals is because of the way he has played -- very tentative, more afraid to make mistakes than actually going out and trying. Reminds me a lot of Zibanejad in his first 9 games -- physically ready, skill is there, but playing way too safe to be very useful.

Straight from the Sens' website -- they list Zibanejad as the 1LC. Was this approved by Cameron/Murray? Is it a message for Turris?

Lazar centering Hoffman and Chiasson. Interesting line.

They want to cool Hoffman off to get him signed a little cheaper.

Hoffman is the spark plug, he gets players going.

Well if Lazar is staying up here burning one year toward free agency I hope Hoffman can get him going a bit. Problem is, Hoffman may be leading this team in scoring, but his assist totals are pretty weak.
