i agree. both mac and turris are best suited to being good second line players. Hoffman we wil see. Ryan without a doubt.
i'd say we have one sure fire first line player and thats ryan.

Ev listed five names, one of them as a "maybe". 5 < 6. 4 maybe 5 eve more so.

It's a Simmons rumour, but it's not a well kept 'secret' really.

I think I could live with that decision. The only other candidate that I could think of is the assistant in Nashville. But at this point we need a finisher and an experience GM to step in. Shero might be suited for that job. I just hope that it doesn't mean Blysma is in tow

How about the assistant in Tampa?

Paul Fenton? He's at least used to working with a shoestring budget. Not that he would need to in Ottawa.

Well yeah. He has studied under one of the best GM in the league IMO. But I still want someone with experience and a proven finisher. I never hear about Fenton being interviewed for open GM positions. Wonder if there's a reason for that.

Then Shero too is budget-ready. Not that there's a budget.

Shero makes the most sense, you keep your scouting staff around, keep the good minds and people that surrounded Murray, and hopefully Shero can come in bring a fresh mind and new idea's without the extreme attachment to players Murray has had in the past.  After being the GM of the Pens for so long he will have a good idea of just how close, far, or otherwise the Sens are in terms of competing for the Cup.

Here's hoping for a nice losing streak to improve our draft pick Razz

Meh, Ottawa isn't getting into the top 5, and they are not getting into the playoffs BUT I think there is a better chance of making the playoffs than picking top 5 so I am going to cheer for that until it is no longer possible.

Sens will get a great prospect in the top 11-12 spot so not a ton to worry about. In a lot of years players in the 5-12 range would be top 5 picks.

And to tell you the truth I want the Sens in a position where they have no choice but to draft Konecny.  He's playing on a garbage team, targeted each and every night with little to no help at all.  He's got it all but size which is an issue but he's a kid you know is going to succeed at the next level and the exact type of talent the Sens need up front.  The only thing more impressive than his skill is his work ethic. I like his PIM's too, show's he's willing to play chippy, hard, and with an edge... always important for a smaller guy/pittbull.

Also... he still might grow an inch or two... see Nick Paul.  Right now I think he is generously listed at 5'10 but lets say that's true, 5'10 really isn't a tiny NHL player.  It's on the smaller side of average for sure but 5'11, 6'0 is about the average size of an NHL forward.

I'm pulling for Crouse.

Sens won't even get a sniff at him... and anyways Zacha is a better player.
