Right .... right.

You're making it sound like it's as easy as making trades in NHL14. you have to have a trade partner. right now most teams aren't interested in players we have, they'd want players none of us want traded. trust me that i'm sure murray would make a trade with prospects and NHLers like greening to improve the team if he could. there isn't many trades to be made in my opinion...DefenceWinsChampionships wrote:SeawaySensFan wrote:I'm not sure why you fire Murray now? For guessing wrong on Michalek and Greening basically. I thought everyone was thrilled with the return we got from the Spezza deal. What about picking up Ryan AND keeping him?
Phillips is filling a hole which no one has stepped up to fill for 2.5million which is peanuts in the NHL.
What else is he supposed to do? Make a trade? YES. But... Ask yourself why a team with a ridiculous amount of cap space can't find a trade when there are plenty of teams close to the cap that are underachieving.
You don't 'fire' Murray. You relieve him of his duties to be with his family. That said, this team isn't stuggling because of players getting overpaid, their struggling because they have too many players under contract that are underachieving. Big difference there.
Trade Phillips, Wiercioch, Smith, Greening. You have prospects to add in to get picks/players back. We can take on salary, we can trade away prospects. Scratching two forwards and 1-2 d-men every night is such a poor use of resources and it's only stunting the development of our prospects by sending the message that they'll never play
NEELY wrote:Don't be so sure of that.
exactly. and every org thinks they have a condra in the minor just waiting to come up. if he gets moved it's at the deadline.NEELY wrote:It's nearly impossible to make a trade right now let alone for a 4th line guy who is owed almost 8 million dollars. Only way it happens is to take on a contract of a guy who is even paid more short term or a bad long term contract as well. You can waive Greening and it will be the same thing, no one will take him.
It's an awful contract no one wants to take, best thing you can do is move Condra maybe and try and make chicken salad out of chicken s*it with Greening.
yes and those a re two moves you make at the deadline. doing those now would signal the wrong thing to the team. if we were in the bottom 3 then ya maybe but we're 4 points from a playoff spot and giving up like that sends a terrible message to the players and the youth. unless it's to acquire a much better player that is.Oglethorpe wrote:Anderson and Neil have value.

Guy has had 1 coach in the NHL basically, lol. 2 if you count Clouston so that's 2 in what? 6 years.
