I just want to remind everyone I said this about Murray a couple years back.

Murray is a builder, and the Sens need a GM that is a finisher and willing to make a bold move.

Berglund seems fair....maybe with a second round pick, but I still don't see how Spezza fits into their system...he'll he didn't fit in our system, we all Wing Dang Doodle about his commitment here....St Louis will defend more.... Sharp seems right if Chicago REALLY wants a Center as he is older and has a similiar contract.
I want this done....this is embarrassing....to many screw ups with star players....we are going to be the next Edmonton where nobody will want to play.
I am really losing faith in Murray's ability to manage a roster. He can build a team....but he can't seem to keep them together for the time required to win....

Nobody ever wanted to play in ottawa unless they were drafted and developed. This is nothing new. We will keep guys as long as we develop well.

This woe is me Dung needs to stop in this fanbase. It's embarrassing after one year. Literally just one year. No offence.

In nhl circles the org is not poorly regarded.

This fanbase is awful and it comes directly from the inferiority complex that comes from being between Toronto and Montreal. As soon as something goes wrong it worries about what others think of the organisation. Man, who gives a Diddle?
The team is in a rebuild that started 3 years ago and basically 1 player drafted since then has made the roster.
That's why they are still inconsistent, not because Melnyk doesn't want to overpay for UFAs who are gonna be bought out once the kids are ready.

It's all about Ryan and MacArthur. That'll shut people up.

No offence taken....my point paws completely missed.... Spezza is very over valued by the same fans that called him crap allyear long. You guys don't get it both ways. Dung player, we don't want him, but we need great return, you can't sit there and say he is more valuable than the guys being moved.....there is a reason nobody is paying for him. It's so frustrating to read some of these posts. It feels like I am reading about Toronto....
Reality.....We will get very little return for Spezza....we are not a cup contender.....we are barely a playoff team....we are still in the early part of a rebuild....we had one over achievement year....our 3rd and 4th line players are just not that good....I am a sens fan every bit as much as you guys but don't kid yourself about who we are....

My prediction of possibly getting Trivago Guy and a can of baked beans might have been shooting a little high, I take it?!?!?!  Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh!

Yup, I am turning that corner from "Murray fan" to "his time is just about up". The Ryan move was pretty bold though so credit there and we have yet to see what Spezza brings in. We will have to see what the Sens look like with the dead weight and old guard almost all gone... could be something special, could be something awful, remains to be seen.

As for Spezza... Murray is going to have to let teams get desperate but he's also not going to be able to really screw around either because teams are trying to put their rosters together and don't want to spend all summer doing it. St.Louis will make a final pitch for Spezza when they miss Stastny, it will be their best offer, if Murray says not enough then that might be it.

The Ryan move was pretty bold and also pretty recent so I don't see how his time is just about up. Except for his advanced age and possible health issues as seen in the photo linked by sandysensfan.

Hang in there mury!

He doesn't know how to get a team over the top, never has. Ryan move was bold but so was signing Federov in Anahiem but Murray would have never traded Federov had he still been there but that's the move that helped Anaheim get over the top.

Murray refuses to look at players he has marked as his own or been around long enough and move on from them. He simply can't do it.

That's fine in Ottawa because fans seem more pre-occupied with adding prospects than they are with winning.

well I for one am happy with Berglund. I don't think that's overvaluing him.

I don't think we are in an early part of a rebuild. We have all the pieces to be a playoff contender now.

I think people underrate our bottom 6 which was a strength the previous 2 seasons before last.

Everything looked bad last year. We underachieved.

Yes, everything did look bad last year. But I still think we are somewhere between the team that overachieved two years ago and under achieved last year.

MacArthur the new captain? He sure should be in my books. Nobody earned it like he did last year.

Jim Nill just confirmed the #Stars strong interest in Spezza. Said as long as a hockey deal can be made, he's interested.

Not sure who this guy is, but could be interesting if Dallas is indeed interested in Spezza and St Louis doesn't get Stastny.

All this "strong" interest BS makes me laugh because it didn't seem that "strong" at the draft. We'll keep Spezza right here in Ottawa, thank you very much!!!

apperently the stars were a team that was on his no-trade list. that could change. i'd be happy with a return from dallas, would love to see st-louis holding their Richard with no spezza, no stastny.
