Reality.....We will get very little return for Spezza....we are not a cup contender.....we are barely a playoff team....we are still in the early part of a rebuild....we had one over achievement year....our 3rd and 4th line players are just not that good....I am a sens fan every bit as much as you guys but don't kid yourself about who we are....

My prediction of possibly getting Trivago Guy and a can of baked beans might have been shooting a little high, I take it?!?!?!

Was told #Sens and Stars talked about a Spezza deal on draft day. Apparently Dallas offered a top six forward, forward prospect and a 2nd.

Yup, I am turning that corner from "Murray fan" to "his time is just about up".  The Ryan move was pretty bold though so credit there and we have yet to see what Spezza brings in.  We will have to see what the Sens look like with the dead weight and old guard almost all gone... could be something special, could be something awful, remains to be seen.

Moving up in the draft to grab a scrawny kid with a great flow was a pretty bold move, too.  Trading a "stud" puck mover who broke records in the SEL for another scrawny kid with bad press was a gutsy move. Even the ones that didn't work out (like Filly) were bold moves.

Honestly, do you guys even know what you are talking about?  What constitutes a "builder" move and what constitutes a "finisher"?  Are you simply dividing drafting from pro scouting?

I'd be happy with Nichushkin/Chaisson + B. Ritchie/Glennie + a 1st or 2nd. Love that Roussel kid, too, if he could be worked in somehow -- i.e., instead of the prospect.

On the other hand, if the 'top 6 forward' was someone like Peverley or Cole, I understand why that's a huge pass.

He's a promising young player, but yeah, don't see him anywhere near that valuable anytime soon.
