he isnt the captain anymore....he gave that up when he asked for atrade.... I dont see anyone paying what he asking. You have already lost your pick thats worth anything....1st round is over..now you are waiting for a signifigant roster playe and a prospect, just don't see it happening...the longer this goes, the worse this gets. He either gets moved for brutal return, or he starts the season as 2nd/3rd line center in a non leadership capacity. This is a bad situation....nobody will like the result of this.....too stubborn...value is going down by the hour.

Any Spezza rumours?

No chance Spezza starts the year in Ottawa. Might drag on until camp but he won't be a Senator when the season starts.

Nashville is the most logical landing spot for Spezza, he just needs to waive and right now with all the first rounders now young prospects there's no rush.

We know that at worst he will get Berglund. That's a win.

Everything is lining up for Spezza to land in Nashville... if he doesn't waive to go there he might end up back with the Sens.

Depends on how badly he really wants out.

He wants out, depends how stupid he is to be honest...

Does he not want to go there because he wants to be traded to a contender? Is he forgetting that he's a UFA next season? One season in Nashville really isn't that bad...

I bet Fish and Carrie could and would be happy to accommodate Spezza for a year....

If Murray ends up with a 2015 1st rounder in a Spezza deal than he played a pretty good game of chess this time around.

If Dany Heatley can make it until training camp after a trade request than so does Spezza.

Now why would Murray make that public?  Lots of tension surrounding this Spezza issue now.  No way he can come to play.  Just waiting for Spezza to speak up about why he really wants to go further damaging an already bad reputation that the Sens have.

All he has to do is stay there for 1 f'in year. Then he can leave for St Louis. What is so wrong with Nashville. They have a new coach and are going more offensive game plans. Neal, Weber, Seth Jones, Josi, Rinne - all really good players.

Appears to be. He was so vocal about Heatley leaving and doing what is best for the team.
