I think they will be grabbing a UFA center who can score 50-60 points, play 200 feet, and fill in on the 2nd or 3rd line.  Who will that be?  Not sure but there are a few out there.  The guy a few people have brought up who I am not crazy about Grabovski.  Is he a guy I really like?  Yes and no, I always thought he was a solid player for the Leafs and did a lot of little things right.  He is also a guy you can sign to a MacArthur type deal and perhaps would like to stick it to the two teams who gave up on him, Montreal and Toronto.  To me that's a move that makes a ton of sense.

The guy I think they are really expecting to take the next step forward is Zibanejad.  The messages were sent loud and clear last year by the organization to him and hopefully it has carried over to this season in terms of what he needs to do to be successful.  Huge year for him.  Da Costa is a guy that might get his big chance as well with the PP needing someone with his skill set and a guy that has the potential to be a big time point producer.  Not a make or break year for Zibanejad at all, for Da Costa it will be.

As for the trade for a power forward, you are absolutely correct that he has to be a winger.  There's a specific job they need to do and it can only be done from the wing.  DSP, Ritchie from Dal (potential to be one), Stewart from Buffalo, there are some out there.  We'll see what Spezza brings back in 2 weeks or less.

On the same note if they do get their pick back from Anaheim, Virtanen is 100% the player I would like in that spot.

Berglund is 6'4", 220, loves to stand in front of goalies on the pp, 200 foot player, good for 50 points and at least 20 goals, more if the Sens use him in a top 6 capacity.

So there's one of your big, responsible, young forwards right there IMO.

I also think St. Louis can suck it and send us sobotka as well, maybe instead of the 1st or rattie.

Dude plays the game the way we want, is left handed and doesn't lose many draws.

Send stlouis Condra as well if you must.

Berglund also wasn't used on the pp very much in St. Louis - only 4 points, so clearly he's not just a 14 goal guy and we'd be buying really low on him.

Berglund would be a nice piece, no question.

Doesn't win faceoffs though - only 47%.

I remember watching Berglund at the WHC a few years ago and thinking he was unbelievable. St Louis is a D first team. Be interesting to see how he'd do in Ottawa's system.

Well, he's Swedish. He's big. I must admit I have never played really close attention to him. How is his skating?

Skating is solid and like SD said earlier he scores 20 a year without PP time. IMO that's the best player the Sens will walk away with in a Spezza deal right now.

Tons of guys in Ottawa are shoot first players so no worries there. Berglund is a legit NHLer and one that could break out into his prime.

I sure hope so if he's who's coming back in the trade. 20 goals without PP time us fairly impressive. Still I'm dreaming that BM pills something better out of his hat.

An NHL source tells me STL interest in Jason Spezza is serious & they are putting together a package that would include Patrik Berglund.

He's listed as a centre. Is he good enough for the 2nd line centre or the 3rd?

14 goals with limited pp time (1:30 per game). He's scored 20 twice and 19 once as a 26 year old. He's a solid player.
