You really think Murray was ready to fire MacLean over Spezza? I figured at this point the light bulb must have come on.

How many coaches/wingers was he prepared to go through before he realizes the problem is the only constant(Spezza)?

Lots of other reasons to fire MacLean other than Spezza. Starting with his ridiculous mustache!

I really do believe that portion of things.

I wish we could somehow move spezza to Winnipeg... there's a lot of players on that team that i think would benefit from being in the eastern conference and play with some of our guys. sadly I doubt winni is a team he'd accept to be moved to.
if it were i'd make a multi-player move on both sides.

Anyone think he might get swapped for E. Staal? I know that isn't the most popular idea, but it's definitely a possibility.

I'd be down. Staal is just what we would need, a guy who shoots a ton. He needs a change of scenery.

mnot sure how i feel about that. that could go both ways where yes he ends up with a change of scenery or both team trade players on the decline.

i'd rather get something we can build off and help us further down the line.

It'd take a lot more than one year of spezza for that. Don't think we could even get Jordan for that without adding.

I figure the trade will be Spezza+ anyway.

Hey, don't diss the 'stache. But you're right, lots of reasons.

Also to suggest that "Spezza is the only constant" is bogus.

I need some meaningless stats from you to back that up.

Maclean = Jack Adams without Spezza in the lineup

Maclean= Jack Donkey with Spezza in the lineup

How's that for a stat?

MacLean was a finalist his first year, Spezza was 4th in league scoring. He admitted that he changed his approach this year. Everyone here knows Spezza won't change.

Haha. I think they'd be ok with getting rid of that horrible contract.

Scott Cullen for TSN did a story on the next season for the Sens.

By looking at the Capgeek he did up.. the return from Spezza from Anaheim would be Palmerie and Sbisa.. I hope if that was the case.. Murray hangs up the phone I would hope. That downright sucks. A 3rd or 4th line player and a spare defensemen...

He also had them signing Grabovski..

Luca Sbisa is a great d-man. Palmieri is a Top 6 in the making. Add a pick and that's what you should expect.

Sbisa would be a nice welcome for sure. I don't even care about the return we get at forward position. I really believe Stone, DaCosta, Zibanejad and LAzar are gonna be good next year.

However, we can get Bonino and Sbiza IMO. Diddle the pick.
