He played really, really well in the 2nd half.  The Olympics really messed that guy up I think, because once it was clear he wasn't going to make it, he settled down and got back to the way we all want him to play.

It was very clear that he helped the team a lot in the 2nd half and he loves it here and he plays hard, and he appears to be a leader.  The BS off-ice stuff needs to be addressed, but Methot is a solid 2nd pairing guy - NOT a top pairing guy.  

Now Cowen....Cowen's another story completely.  I hope he's our Luke Schenn that we trade for a JVR.

He has far more upside, is younger, and already produces as much as Methot does.

We lost a core player due to budget.  If they actually offered him the blank cheque like they said there'd be no problem.

Instead they tried to corner him to accept a number within their stinking budget thinking he'd be loyal as always.

If that's how they handled negotiations with the greatest player to ever wear the jersey I don't feel so good about a great player who's only been here one year(Ryan).
