Yeah, what was said today? I didn't get a chance to hear any of it.

Hopefully MacLean said that he had Dung for brains cleaned out of his head in a recent surgery and is ready for next year.

Really? Have you had the occasion to listen to AJ Jakubec calling Sens' games on the radio? "And they scooooooooooore!" when the Sens score; "and they score" when the opposition scores.

Actually the goals are my only beef with AJ. He's pretty good otherwise.

This is probably a huge pipe dream considering the contract uncertainty of Spezza (although signing an extension and moving to Brooklyn wouldn't be that surprising)

To NYI: Jason Spezza, Colin Greening/Erik Condra
To OTT: Kyle Okposo, Griffen Reinhart, 1st (2015)

I would love it if you could jump on as an advisory to garth snow. that would make it another highway robbery for us on the isles.... dude, no way that happens. also, really doubt jason waves for NYI.

MacLean:

"you have to be willing to move your feet to defend"

That's a direct shot at the way Spezza plays, not Spezza the man or the person, but the player. If he's not doing it it's a trickle down effect and that has been proven time and time again, the team reflects it's captain.

MacLean made some excuses for Spezza, laid a little praise, but that's what stuck out like a sore thumb.

That's Spezza and Cowen in a nutshell right there. Standing like pylons while they get walked in the neutral zone/defensive area. A little Karlsson mixed in there as well.

If at the end of the day the Sens could grab one of Schwartz or O'Reilly from either Colorado or St.Louis for Spezza, that's a move that will absolutely make the Sens a better team tomorrow and for the next 5-10 years.

Cowen will be an interesting case going into the summer as well.

Sounds like McArthur likes where the Sens are going and has enjoyed his time with Turris and Ryan. I believe that line will stay for a few years. Just find someone to play with Zibanejad.

You have Stone and you have Michalek who wants to come back. I can think of a lot worse top 6s out there.

Now...about the 3rd line and the defence...

I'd personally look to move Cowen and Spezza for starters. If nothing else, I can replace Cowen with Borowiecki next year and not lose anything.

I'd still be in the market for a top pairing D-man so Methot move down to 2nd pairing.

Also obviously looking for another top 6 player who I can play with either Zibanejad or Lazar. Maybe Greening and Lazar can find some chemistry, but that's a big risk.

When St.Louis gets bounced in round 1, we might be able to do something like that.

Seriously, when I look at the demeanor both on and off the ice of the players, it's easy to see who really want it and who don't. Before even looking at skill we should address those issues because we're talking about the foundation here and that's what creates long term success.

Cowen had issues with his hip flexor again(not the one he had surgery for).

That might explain some of his mobility issues this year if this was nagging all year long.

Spezza to St.Louis for Schwartz and the rights to Ott.

Ott's still out there and might test free agency. I want him as the 3C, or the winger for Lazar.

Isn't that just Spezza? Who else?

Hemsky didn't sound too excited, Craig Anderson you never know what he thinks and is never really pissed of or happy. Then you watch an interview with Karlsson and Lehner, Bobby Ryan for instance and it's night and day.

Anderson seems fine to me, but others think he's a bad seed. I hope Murray has the pulse there, he's very easy to replace IMO.

Hemsky is going to free agency and honestly, he was good, but he wasn't a franchise player. I would have liked to see him brought back, but the whole posturing thing about Spezza staying would go a long way, is nonsense.

All the players say they love Maclean. I would be shocked if he is fired.
