If Michalek had a NMC with SJ, he waived that when he was traded here (and I don't think he had one to start with). When Heatley waived to be traded from here to San Jose, his NMC/NTC vanished. That allowed SJ to deal him to Minnesota.

Michalek was too young to have the activated NTC when he was traded, only took effect in Ottawa.

Makes me a little nervous seeing Turris stumble a bit. I understand the sentiment that these guys will continue to develop, but it's slightly nerve wracking to see how inconsistent he and Zibanejad can be offensively.

The entire team is inconsistent, only player you get the same thing out of everytime is Kassian.  That's on the coach and GM

I agree the lines have been Cussed with to death this year. That said, it's been an on-going struggle to find a solution for the Spezza problem. To some extent, MacLean's hands have been tied by having the $7M captain and anchor bring down the team.

First thing you don't do is screw with the Turris line - but if you do you put Ryan and zbad on Spezza's wings and try to have a semblance of a second line. But whatever, he's the coach.

Gotta wonder if the final decision on Kesler (trade or keep) will then break the logjam for guys like Hemsky, Cammalleri, Stewart, etc to be moved.

It'll break the logjam for Spezza and Vanek if anything.  Ahhhhh!
