Capgeek only has it if it gets leaked. They don't always advertise the type of contract when it gets signed. This isn't the first time that we learn the parameters of a NTC or NMC this way.

If he doesn't have a full NTC that's a game changer.

I still think you need to ink Phillips. He should be on the left side of Ceci while h develops - there's no one else in the organization who even comes close to his veteran presence.

Except we still don't know what the parameters of his NTC are. I really hope it's a limited NTC, but I have a feeling it's a full NTC.

Something has to give on the blueline between now and next season but I agree that Phillips should be inked for a couple years especially if they are going to move Spezza for no other reason that to take the "C" for a year or two and let the younger players play.

i'm not a hundred percent sure but when spezza signed his contract there were no 8 teams list in contracts at that point in the NHL I think that came just after with the contracts of scott gomez. i'm pretty sure spezza has a full NTC

McKenzie still thinks Minny wants Halak.

I would be happy if anyone wanted anyone and did something about it at this point.

While the Senators contemplate giving Chris Phillips a 2 yr ext, what's fair trade return? Told Sens want a 1st round pick.

I assume you're referring to going after Markov from the Habs? Well, at least the Oilers are going after the right position finally.

Might as well make a play for Gonchar while they are at it.

Sens are asking for a 1st round pick for Phillips if they do move him... right move if so because a 2nd, mix and match of 3rd, 4ths, and 5ths do nothing for the Sens now or much in the future.  At least a 1st rounder you might be able to get a little value and a player that will probably play for you in the future.

2 year deal is a non starter for me. Karlsson, Ceci, Gryba, Methot, Cowen, Weircioch, Borowiecki is 7 guys who will probably be in Ottawa next year with Clasessen and Wideman pushing hard right behind. I get a 1 year deal from the Sens perspective and I get that Phillips intends to play beyond next year so really the best move is to move him now because all you are doing is delaying the inevitable. Phillips will not retire a Sen barring career ending injury.
