A Spezza trade seems more likely in the off-season. Do we know the details of his NTC? I believe it's one where he can supply a list of something like 10 teams he'll accept a trade to.

No idea what the terms of that NTC are, was asking yesterday and no one seems to know.

Like I said yesterday I think this is all setting up for the off season move of moving Spezza out and going with a center ice of Turris/Zibanejad/Lazar/Smith with guys like Da Costa and Pageau doing some spot work if one or the other isn't traded by that time.

NYR IMO is the most likely landing point for a number of reasons and you hope that the Sens get back a 1st round pick in this years or next years draft and 1 roster player like a Krieder, Stepan, or Hagelin.  If you can get that kind of return for Spezza that's a win besides the obvious addition by subtraction.

Should be an interesting summer for the Sens if this is leading down that path... significant changes over the past two years... and if we do move/lose BigRig... the only "old guard" left will be Neil.

Strange days...

On Twitter last night, someone reported that Spezza's agent said that Spezza hasn't been asked for his list of teams he'd accept a trade to. Some places on the internet say he has a full no-trade clause, other places say he has a limited NTC. Capgeek should have this info, but they don't.

I don't think Murray would come to them with that request unless there was something on the table right now worth trading him for or that deep into conversations.  So while that is 100% the truth, they haven't been asked to provide that list it doesn't mean they don't know or haven't requested about a trade possibility.  Just my two cents on the whole thing, a lot of playing with words from Murray and Spezza's agent.

The last couple of years, we've seen a lot of trades for down before the trade deadline. This year, not a lot of action so far. Hopefully that means we're in for a busy day today and tomorrow.

You would THINK things would pick up today but I guess Murray and Snow are holding onto their player until the last moment.  Really hope Snow makes another dumb move (or lack there of) again.

Deadline is at 3pm ET tomorrow...

Not a lot of buzz, even on Twitter. Hopefully once a couple guys get moved like Vanek or Moulson or Callhan or Kesler or whoever, it breaks the logjam.

At least there is a hockey game tonight.

Capgeek only has it if it gets leaked. They don't always advertise the type of contract when it gets signed. This isn't the first time that we learn the parameters of a NTC or NMC this way.

If he doesn't have a full NTC that's a game changer.
