Edler would be an ideal fit on Ottawa's blueline IMO but that's an off season move for sure.

Again they need some muscle up front and that's what the Sens will get if they get anything at all.

I would agree that the time is now for Chris Stewart or steve ott, but edler may not last the season. Have to do due diligence on this one.

Any GM worth his salt is asking for Claesson in a proposal as a 'throw in', we all know it. Every GM will have a list of guys they want and if Claesson isn't on that list, they're not doing their jobs.

I can assure you many teams already have a Claesson.

I think Wideman becomes a throw in to be honest. Really like that player and he's close to the NHL, maybe closer than Claeson.

You Cussing add an "s" to Kesler but drop the "s" on Claesson.

Time for NEELY to get demoted.

That's for sure a possibility, but there's certainly no harm in adding another sturdy near NHL ready defensive prospect. Money in the bank IMO.

You also thought Cory Conacher was money in the bank.

I really did. Stunned it didn't work out better based on his AHL performance and his story on making the NHL in the first place. I think we saw flashes of what he can do, but the consistency simply has never been there from his time here. Disappointed.

Well we can't say it didn't work out yet, he's just a sophomore. They will probably re-sign him to a two-way.

Yeah, it's true it's early yet. Still...hard to see him developing into a top 6 forward at this point - and I'm not sure he's suited to a 3rd line role.

Lots of teams "think" they have a Claesson but when it's time to bring them to the NHL will end up with a Bryan Lee at best Sarcasm

I'm intrigued by all these trade demands out there, it does force the price down on certain players. Murray likes to do his shopping early (so as to not fall into a bidding war)so i expect him to pull a move prior to the weekend. the only problem is Tim knows this and would probably wait out on dealing Ott. As for stewart I imagine that St-louis might prefer trying to land callahan over whatever we might be offering so that deal might go down to the wire to see what NY does. again this is BM, he pulls out deals for unexpected players usually. who knows what happens.

I was happy with that trade at the time as well. I had read about his battle to get to where he was and how he had made it when he was told he couldn't....love guys like that. They always seem to find a way. If Conacher is going to come through again, it needs to happen soon. There isn't a lack of effort from him, but he seems to be lost. He is all over the place, accomplishing nothing. I thought he was a great fit for the style we play, but I was way wrong.

Like Ryan "Del" Shannon and Steve Martins. Just as I predicted.

sophomore slump? will be interesting to see how management responds to this situation. i doubt they simply part ways with him. most likely a one year contract.

Shannon was way more talented that Conacher. Fact is Conacher doesn't really do much at an NHL level aside from work hard. Hard work has gotten him to this point but he needs to figure out how to be successful as well.
