All 3.....   Pageau took a needless penalty.. but he will learn from that.  The refs missed a call again.. led to GWG....  Karlsson -- that's what you get with him...  He sometimes just tries too much... too flashy.. instead of the simple play.  Goal by Spezza was a beauty..

Hopefully Pageau will learn from it (the Sens, as a team, are taking too many needless penalties).

Now, the refs, not sure they will learn anything if they are not made accountable.

And if that call is not missed, the game is still tied and the Sens are on the PP with just over 2 minutes to go in the game. Less likely Karlsson does the pirouette.

P.S. Still that.s two short-handed goals in the same game. I don't think the Sens scored many shorties this year, themselves.

Edit: 1 shorthanded goal, tied with Buffalo, Edmonton (?), Florida, NYR and Minny. Phoenix and Pittsburgh (???) have no shorthanded goals.

How on earth does Pittsburgh not have any? And Edmonton, too -- but I guess their flashy stars don't do PK. Ottawa with as many opportunities as they've had, you'd expect more than one.

Curious to know if Murray has filed a formal complaint. Once in a while you get those calls against you... but 3 goals against on non-calls in back to back games?  No...

It actually happened with around 2-1/2 minutes left in the game. There were 2 seconds left in Pageau's penalty when they scored. If the arm goes up the score's 2-2 and they are on the PP for almost the rest of the game. Pretty close to a guaranteed point and very likely 2.

Sure, every team gets jobbed once in a while, but I still maintain my stance that it's happened to the Sens more than their equal share. And this has been going on for a while. Started with the very unusually high number of too many men calls against them. Those calls are very often judgement calls because there *is* no safe zone near the benches to indicate when a player can come off, so it's up to the discretion of the referee to decide whether the guy came on too soon or not. Sure, there are the rare ones when six guys are skating around for a few seconds, but most of the time it's just someone a bit too slow coming off or too eager to come on.

And what about all the high-sticks that are missed? One game Smith got hit twice and Neil once, and all three were missed.

It's the ones where the infraction is right where the puck is that make no sense. What are the refs watching, if not the puck?
