Was just re-watching the goals against. I had missed the tying one last night. Spezza ties #16 up and then just lets him go. That was pretty brutal. If he had continued holding him with his stick it would have been hooking, so he's got to move his feet and get position on the guy. Defintely found himself on the wrong side there.

The winning goal was another brutal play, this time by the refs. Michalek is clearly hooked when he's trying to get to the puck. I have no idea how two refs watching the play could miss that, the puck's right there so where else is their attention? Probably watching the friggin' cheerleaders.

And in the previous game there were two other blown calls that resulted in goals against. In that game the PP was 2/3 so you take away two goals and it's 3-2, then add two more PPs and who knows? Plus that 5th goals probably doesn't get scored anyway if the Devils don't have the momentum. And in this game if the hook on Michalek is called it's a 2-2 game and the Sens have a 90-secodn PP with 2 minutes to go in the game. I like our chances there.

4 points they could have had if not for brutal reffing. I know this sounds like whining but it's happened on back-to-back nights, kind of hard to take.

Forget the refs man, I watch a ton of hockey and all the teams get Dung calls every single game. The best teams don't even care, they take the penalty, get scored on, shut up and move on. That's leadership for you.

Nothing to say. Season over.

Seriously, if people think the refs are going to make calls in the Sens favour to help them win games at this point haha. News flash, these calls even out and these calls are made against and for every team in the league. Sens make it easy on the refs each night, simple as that.

Anyways, until something drastic happens in Ottawa the results will be the same.

We got at least one point earlier in the season from being on the good side of a bad call. Zero sense in whining about the refs.

It's insane people talk about the refs like they have decided the outcome. Hockey is 100% the toughest sport in the world to ref and it isn't close.

I'm surprised ppl aren't making more of a deal out that dumb spinarama move karlsson tried on the PP when he had a clear lane to shoot and a team mate near the net for a potential rebound. Really, I'm flabbergasted that someone like karlsson who is our best player decides to do something so Cussing boneheaded and costs his team any chance to tie up the game. And then the rest is history.

And don't get me started on pageau and his errant stick.....or phillips belly flopping and allowing his man to go around and make the pass for the GWG.

That last PK was comically infuriating. The sequence of events where Z. Smith couldn't clear the puck...phillips flopping to block the pass inadvertently allowing his man the time and space to make that pass....and the penalty itself.  How careless can pageau be?  i'm really furious about that.  Focus on the Cussing play, it was a dumb one handed mistake.

Don't really even want to talk about it anymore personally. Teams done and needs an overhaul.

Offensive guys trying to make offensive plays when they are down by 1 with 2 mins to go is fine. S*it happens. Karlsson has done that same thing 100 times and it works out a lot... Anderson makes a save there and were aren't even talking about it. Anderson was fine yesterday btw, nothing he could do on most of those goals. Spezza was the cause of a goal too but he worked hard, created chances, etc, no blame on him either.

Team needs a shake up and a message sent, that's on Murray now. On ice play fault has shifted now IMO... it's upper managements call now what happens.

Murray making threats this year to trade people are largely empty threats until the trade deadline.

There is no one on this team that's a trade-able asset that we should actually trade except maybe Spezza but I think they're too embarrassed to deal him and admit they Cussed up giving him the C and letting #11 go over money.

Kinda hard to move on when the missed penalty happens a little over 2 minutes from the end of a tied game, or when it happens twice in the same game. It also happens a lot more to the Sens. I know, it sucks. That rut in the ice that Karlsson fell over was probably because the ice-making equipment and zamboni are in need of repairs.

I wish I could believe you, but it's going on 4 years now that the Sens are getting this treatment. The stench of Cory Clouston has barely begun to wear off when MacLean starts his complaining.

Karlsson, at that point, was trying to do too much. They'd been shooting at Clemmenson all night and managed to score two on a kicked-in puck and a perfect shot from Spezza. They weren't getting a lot of good chances through, and maybe at ice level Karlsson saw that the shooting lane you mention wasn't all that good.
