Anderson is on for the optional skate, which usually means he's the backup. I should have called that yesterday, because I almost assumed that PMac would go with Lehner. Makes sense, right? The guy finally wins after blowing some saveable ones earlier, then making a gamesaving stop late, then finally stopping all shooters in the SO.

But you don't play your #1 back-to-back because that's the only way the backup gets games, so it's Lehner.

No matter who it is, we should win. I mean, it's Buffalo. So I don't think either one of the goalies gives us something that's needed to win. But you'd think he would want to get Anderson on a roll.

Huh. Not that it matters, Lehner's amazing, but this would have been a good time to trot Anderson back out there and see if he could build on his late third period.

Remember when we had back to backs before and PMac played the same guy each time? No one was happy about that back then. Lehner tonight and then back to Anderson I'd think for the Thursday game unless Lehner gets a 75 save shutout or something tonight.

Yeah, fair enough. Lehner needs to play too for when Anderson poops the bed.

MacLean is right when he says Hoffman doesn't need anymore playing time in the AHL, practicing every day, learning the system, becoming part of the team is more important to his "development" at this point then playing games in the NHL on a regular basis. Let him figure out the NHL life style and go from there.
