The thing is puck possession teams would do that play he was trying to, but the problem is he doesn't have the skill to do it and it's the coaching staff's job to tell the layers who have to do what.

Deserved a W out of this one, but of course we lose in a shootout.  Hoffman had, what...under 5 mins of ice time?  What the hell did he do to be in the dog house already?  Gotta give the kid half a chance.

Officiating was entertaining...between Toronto's questionable goalie interference goal, and Spezza's no-goal, that was the game right there.  

Oh well, this season's pretty much finished.  Just sucks we don't have a 1st rounder, but we're better off with Ryan anyway.  How about that shot block he made last night.  Wheeee.

Oh and Kassian had one minute of ice time, and he actually had a scoring chance and two hits.  God...the guy deserved a few more minutes, he's actually not a liability out there. I am now convinced Paul MacLean is semi-challenged.  

Kassian doesn't deserve any more games lol.

That first penalty, sure Karlsson tripped him, but Kadri should have gotten 9.9 what with the Degree of Difficulty on that one being 4. Then, Kadri again, with the can-opener on Smith -- how does that not get called? Puck's right there, where else should they be looking? Ridiculous. Then JVR pushes Methot into Anderson, Methot moves just a bit; but when Methot touches JVR he goes cartwheeling through the crease. The pushes went both ways and neither one was worthy of a whistle, but JVR made no attempt to not interfere with Anderson so that goal should have been called back.

Yeah, I know that penalties were called (and missed) both ways, but when the shot count is something like 50-30 you know which team is making all of its chances and which one capitalizes on gifts from the zebras.

Yep, two assists plus the goal on the quick whistle, he was skating pretty well and even had some hits. Sorry, had some kid issues and missed half of the third (in and out) and all of OT/SO, so didn't see the giveaway. But from what I did see he had a good game.

Haha Stone has done less than Hoffman in his times up in Ottawa... neither one has an NHL goal so saying Hoffman needs to produce or it will be Stone is kind of lame. Hoffman needs to get some reps and a legit shot before even thinking about moving him down. That said I don't think he does much with his shot but I hope he does, he's earned it.

Exactly. Hoffman had under 5 minutes of ice time against the Leafs. It's like MacLean is mocking Murray's roster moves.
