I am not sure if I am being overly optimistic but I am thinking 4-1-1 is reasonable with OT loss to Toronto (back to back and Toronto at home) and a loss against LA.

I can also see Ottawa splitting 3-3 or even coming out 5-1. Really need to make a statement tomorrow against Buffalo
You're being overly optimistic at 4-1-1. 3-3 is what I'm expecting, but hoping for a 3-2-1.

Seems to be a recurring theme with Ottawa.  Clouston was the master of the line shuffle.
Even implying MacLean and Clouston in the same sentence should never happen.

If the Sens can come back from the road trip with 7 or more points that's a good haul to start the year. Getting 4 the first 2 nights would be fantastic, even 3 would be fine.

6 points would be great. More than that is a big triumph.

Sens ALWAYS lose that opening season game to the leafs (second half of back to back)

First few games will be what last few of the pre-season should have been. We had out 1LC injured and not playing, and with two game scheduled on the last day of pre-season you couldn't easily set your roster. So now we have the *real* roster and the new linemates finally get a chance to try and develop some chemistry.

And Buffalo wants to play rough, we may see Greening moving up to open up space for the skill players especially on L2.

Quick summary: Random useless reporter takes time out of his busy life to show his disdain -- not for the Senators, but for the Senators fans and the city we live in.

Michalek is probably playing his last season in Ottawa. Not sure if his knee needs some kind of time to get back to a comfortable enough state but someone else will take his spot next season for sure. Mark Stone or Shane Prince.

Also, the Leafs have added more skill and speed to their bottom 6. I don't think Kassian is needed anymore against Toronto.

Kassian isn't needed against anybody. The fact that's he's even in the NHL is funny

It's like that plasma has turned back into a (thick) liquid if not a solid.

The outlook may change with Greg Anderson reportedly dealt to Edmonton. Stay tuned.

7 points in the 6 games would be a large success for the Sens. This has been said before but to start the year on the road like this, when everyone is fresh, excited, and the team needing to click is perfect. They go out west, keep their game super simple, and can play without the media or spot light on them. Also gives them "family time" for lack of a better word. They come out of that with 2 wins and they are laughing. San Jose, LA, and Anahiem will all be tough, need to make sure they beat the Yotes who are no push over either.

Beats being repeatedly dealt to Edmonton.

Assuming Lehner gets one of the back-to-back starts. San Jose or Anaheim?
