I know, I know. I was still working on the "9 teams with scouts at the Habs game and he's being showcased" angle. But with Spezza now looking like he's not going to be ready in Buffalo, Baby-head just might be getting some NHL starts with Ottawa. He's earned at least a few games with his pre-season play; I just didn't think it was going to be with the Sens.SeawaySensFan wrote:You mentioned everybody but DaCosta, who might be the man for the job.wprager wrote:Spezza didn't take part in the main practice, skated by himself after others have gone. He's not playing tomorrow, that's for sure. I still have to trust him and P-Mac at their words that this is minor and would not keep him out of a regular season game.
That said, he's had 1 game with Ryan and I don't remember any "chemistry" being on display. This is not a 48-game season and so long as the rest of the team is healthy and, come on, it's the Buffalo Sabres! Maybe he should sit out another week and start in Toronto next Saturday.
In the meantime, who would you replace him with, assuming Ryan/Michalek stay together? Move Turris and Zibanejad/Pageau up to center the 2nd line? Or keep the 17-7-89(?) line together to build chemistry, and replace Spezza between Ryan and Michalek (Z-Bad? Pageau?)
