7 points in the 6 games would be a large success for the Sens. This has been said before but to start the year on the road like this, when everyone is fresh, excited, and the team needing to click is perfect. They go out west, keep their game super simple, and can play without the media or spot light on them. Also gives them "family time" for lack of a better word. They come out of that with 2 wins and they are laughing. San Jose, LA, and Anahiem will all be tough, need to make sure they beat the Yotes who are no push over either.

The outlook may change with Greg Anderson reportedly dealt to Edmonton. Stay tuned.
Beats being repeatedly dealt to Edmonton.

Assuming Lehner gets one of the back-to-back starts. San Jose or Anaheim?

I would think the Anaheim game would be his for sure but I could see them starting him in San Jose as well. Either or but the Ducks are probably the better team for him to face solely based on the fact Anderson has had a lot of success vs San Jose.

About time. Greg Anderson has been on the block since he signed with Ottawa.

Who's trading him now? I said it before the season started that he might and probably will get moved after this year ends.

I thought 3 is a nice round number ... works for Philadelphia should be good enough for us.

From Bingo thread:

Greening is a much better option on that top line right now and fact is he is a better player than Michalek at this point. Might not have the same natural scoring touch but there are 2 guys beside him that do. Greening is a guy who have proved he can score 15-20 goals and do the dirty work up there.

Like I said, I don't think Michalek gets to November without being out of the lineup on a regular basis. You may even see a guy like Peterson get the call up to Ottawa is Stone is out long term down in Bingo if there is trouble on the wings. I don't say Zibanejad because I think he works his way back up and takes that spot from Da Costa.

Crazy. I didn't know Michalek had sunk so low. That's the way the weenie rolls, I guess.

Don't follow this logic, Michalek has proven has score 30+ goals in this league.

Well he did it once and I think 75% of those goals came in 1/2 a season when the Sens got hot. After that he was invisible except one game in Tampa where he padded those stats.

By your logic Gretzky is a proven 50 goal guy so he would score 50 now? Michalek's knee's are done, his speed isn't what it used to be and there is nothing in his game at this point that will allow him to score 30 goals again. Greening might not get you 30 but he's a guy that will allow Spezza and Ryan to do their thing, right now Michalek is taking up space on that top line because he simply can't do what he needs to do for that line to be successful.

Greening is as healthy as can be at this point.

I'm a bit disappointed if we replace michalek with greening. I for one was really looking forward to seeing what that line can do. IMO Greening isn't really a 1st line player but Milan's proven that when healthy he is... or can be. We traded for ryan to be able to put a top line out there. getting greening back up there might work but it's not optimizing your assets.

Well they've had two full games. Time to cut bait.
