Hoping Michalek's injuries magically go away won't happen. Ryan and Spezza will take time to figure each other out, there's no question but Michalek isn't a guy that is going to be A) here next year and B) a guy that is going to stay healthy and give the line any kind of consistency that they will need.

You look at the top lines in the league and they all have grinders. Crosby has Kunitz, last year Toews and Kane had Bickell, Zetterberg and Datsyuk have Abdelkadar, the list goes on and on. Michalek doesn't have the ability to grind it out anymore. Remember, he was the Bobby Ryan of that line 2 years ago when Greening was on that top line, Michalek doesn't have the ability at this point to be a Greening.

Lines are built on 2 players, not 3. You have pairs of guys you want out there and find the right mix and switch it up with the other player. Lots of guys can play beside Spezza and Ryan, just gotta find the right guys and right now it is for sure not Michalek.

Doubt it's serious. It's annoying though.

It's never serious with Spezza until it is serious. Back wasn't serious last year either until it was season ending. This won't be getting better as the years go on either, it will get worse.

Either way, hopefully he can nip this in the bud but it would explain why he isn't skating during games really. Groins are tough to bounce back from as well and only time off helps. Give it 2 weeks until he is missing regular season games.

My groin would hurt too if I was carrying those size of balls. Spezza will light up the Kings.

Best thing he could do is sit out the Kings game, give himself a full week to recover and play against San Jose while only missing 1 game. Doubt that happens but we'll see I guess.

Karlsson and goaltending yes. Depth also got the Sens through a lot of adversity so hopefully if Spezza is in and out of the lineup along with Michalek some newer players can come up and step in.
