if anyone wants the Nexus 7, or anything from shop.ca, do this:

sign up at ebates.ca. This site will give you 20% cash back at shop.ca

Buy the Nexus 7 from shop.ca. $249.99 and you get $25 off when signing up, then you can redeem these codes on shop.ca (under the redeem gift card tab in your account) for an extra $20 off:

0D30948A430
C0274D0E360

PLUS, you have to enter the code "shopebates" at checkout, which gives you another $10 off.

So to summarize, you can buy the Nexus 7 for $236.19, then you get the 20% mailed to you by ebates. So in total, you can buy the Nexus 7 for around $189.

I'd be you $100 that's not the FHD 32 GB model. I've signed up for shop.ca because of their promo where you get $25 off your first purchase, and then another $25 for something else, forget what. And I haven't used it because shop.ca's pricing is atrocious. Even when things are marked 50-70% off it's usually still not worth it.

Anyhow, the pricing on the 32 GB FHD (higher-resolution screen) is typically $280 at FS/BB and the most I've seen them off so far was $20 below that price (excluding open-box sales and refurb items). I've checked out a few "Black Friday" sales touting Nexus 7s and they are all limited quantities or the 16B non-FHD models, and so on.

No, it's the latest 16GB model. $249.

The "latest" model (Nexus 7-2 or Nexus 7-2013) has two screen variants. The FHD is the one that is almost the same pixel density as the retina display. The difference between the 16 and 32 GB is usually $30. There is also an option 4G module (for cell services) that will up the price another $80.

Anyhow, $249 + $30 (for the 32 GB) is $280, which is the price on BB/FS, but I still don't think it's the FHD because Shop.ca's prices ("regular" prices) are a lot higher than other places).

Yes it is the fhd. Its $249 which oa the regular price everywhere except Google

The latest model does not have two screen variants. It has one screen. One model. The first nexus 7 has a worse screen, the second nexus 7 has the full HD. You have misinformation.

OK, I was wrong, it's the FHD (but the 16 GB version). I haven't compe close, yet, to maxing out the 32 GB storage on mine, but a word of warning, since this one does not have a micro-SD slot that 16 GB cannot be changed other than using cloud services.

Oh, and while looking up the specs I read this: Wireless charging built-in (Qi compatible)

What is "Qi compatible"?

Qi is the wireless charging pad. You put it on the pad and it charges it. Like this:

That one is no-longer sold.

But this one is:

https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_Wireless_Charger?id=nexus_wireless_charger&hl=en

I want.

Or wait, $229.

Same price as regular on Google, but tax free.

HELL of a bargain

I'm thinking about getting the Nexus 7. Just want a good cheap tablet for some general web surfing/video streaming/football and hockey pool management.

Shop.cas is getting roasted lol. The codes they gave away weren't unique, so everyone used and abused them. They deducted $15 from everyone's rewards balance because of it, and they are cancelling some orders. All because they are incompetent. Hopefully I get my Nexus 7.

My wife dropped her iPad 2 last night and shattered the glass on the front. It seems like the LCD is actually still fine, but the glass sure is broken!

Anyway, she got recommended to a repair guy here in town. She called him last night, and he's fixing it this morning for her...$230. The kicker is that it turns out the repair guy is a family friend of mine dating back to the 80s. I used to play tennis with this guy back when I worked at a tennis club. He's around 70 years old, and repairs iPads on the side...he was able to do hers this morning because he isn't curling today. Hilarious.
