Excellent. We'll be able to shed ourselves of more dead weight.

Sounds like some HF is creeping over here to GM in a lot of threads...

Also, just for the record Alfie hasn't said a word to the fans or city for 17 years... why is that? Maybe he does it when he retires but thus far he has just come off like the typical athlete who left for a better deal.

Maybe because he's still in Sweden.

Some people need to cool it with the Alfie-hate. He didn't kill anyone's dog.

He can't take out a full page add? Can't address the Sens fans and media is some way much like he did with the Detroit media? Alfie has handled this whole thing about as badly as he possibly could. I assume that's Melnyk's fault though as everything else seems to be or am I reaching? Between you and SSF seems that way but hey, whatever makes yah happy.

I think some people have a hard time accepting the fact that Alfie is actually not "perfect".

The answer is, obviously, The Budget made him do it.

I still think he will, but if you want to crucify him for not doing it, that's your business.

I won't be mad if he never addresses the issue. I think there was serious errors made on the side of Murray and Melnyk, but I think that Alfie is taking the high road and won't pin anything on the Sens organization. This is just my own personal view. I don't think the full truth will ever come out. He was very clear in his public statement that it was a selfish decision.

I've moved on. I think you should do the same.

You should talk after that knife in the back of #4. And not a single "minus".

Perhaps, just stating the obvious and the facts though.

That's pretty much it. Like the kid saying "Say it ain't so, Joe" this city has a hard time accepting reality. Hell, I was defending him (somewhat) after the "Probably not" interview.

Crucify? We are bitter. After 17 years in this city, getting married and raising a family here, being accepted into the community, with countless kids having a picture of him on the wall in their bedrooms -- after all that we would expect a token gesture at least like the one Mike Fisher showed after spending half as much time here. He may have a beef with the organization, but certainly not the city.

So, yeah, we are bitter, and we say "Just like any other athlete leaving for a better deal". And that equates to a crucifixion in your mind?

He has Alfie up on Mount Everest, he can do no wrong. A lot of people thought that mind you but again, he's just the same athlete as everyone else. Great player, HHOF worthy, Sens legend, but he left for a better deal at the end of the day just like a lot of other athletes do. Fact is he isn't a life time Sen and he shouldn't be treated as that anymore.
