I have a feeling that Conacher will be a dud this year and will lose his roster spot. I hope I'm wrong though.

Agreed. He does have the ability to score big goals, though. He's done it before.

After all the talk how they probably respected the Pens too much, probably not the best choice of words. Respect him all you want off the ice, but don't let it stand in the way of getting the 'W' from an in-Division rival.

I don't think too many guys care more than Conacher. If things don't work out for him here, it won't be from lack of effort. Obviously expectations were really high for him when he got here, but they were a little over-inflated given his tremendous production in Tampa. I can easily see this guy being a 2nd line winger in the future.

guys who come from NCAA have a hard time at the end of their 1st season. It's just too much more hockey than they are used to.
I am sure the training staff will help him in some areas, and unlike Bobby Butler he is gonna bust his Donkey off.

He played like 90 games in the AHL his first year.

I'd say it's more the fact coming from the Dung organization that is the Lightning. People think the coach doesn't like him, not true, he just didn't know him as well as the other guys. He will be given every opportunity now that it is a clean slate.

MacLean put Conacher out to score the tying goal against the Habs.

I have no idea why he's already written off by a lot of Sens fans on the internet.

I think he's really talented, he just needs a training camp with the team to get settled in. He has some things to work on but most players do.

Bet Mac makes Conacher an all around player - and I don't think it'll take that long. No more diving though!!!!!

First, it just sounds stupid: "I think he should be extremely respected." It almost should be grammatically incorrect. What the hell is extreme respect?

Second, I hope he is talking about the fans and not the players. When Alfie comes back he will be the opposition; the enemy; the one who is trying to take away that 'W'. "Extreme respect" should be the furthest thing from your mind.

Third, it just sounds stupid.
