We'll see... I'll stick with 4-4.5 per in Ottawa on a 2 year deal.

Montreal is a big maybe. They've got some centers but maybe not a clear cut number 1 guy but vinny isn't one anymore.NEELY wrote:Vinny will get at least 5 mil, there are so many teams that need a center even if he isn't a #1 guy anymore. My guess again is Dallas, MTL, or Nashville.

No chance he goes to the Habs.

He might be a good choice. RHS D, $4M cap hit, but $3M salary.

What are your guesses?
Who knows, they could part ways with pleckanec or gionta after this year if its for cap reasons.SpezDispenser wrote:SeawaySensFan wrote:SpezDispenser wrote:tim1_2 wrote:The Habs will need to shed a bit of salary to sign Lecavalier, especially since PK is a RFA after next season and will get a huge raise. Not gonna happen Sandy. The NHL would force Melnyk to sell the team and the owners would literally never be able to move it out of the nation's capital.

Us fans have no right to complain about the team's budget. Especially given the age of the roster.
I am not complaining about the budget, just concerned about the ability to spend more down the road.
The floor will be going up and it will cost more just to keep what we have.
Exactly...
Melnyk probably lost a bundle in his divorce.. that put him in a bad way financially?
There was an unsubstantiated rumour on another site (probably not true) that the league had to step in and pay some of the players salaries at the end of the season -- they kept that hush-hush.
They need a new Zamboni, apparently, and don't have the $$ to do that..
All of this really has me concerned that this team could be sold and it is gone out of town..
