Well that's what you would have to try to do. In a budget you have to have certain dollars put aside for certain players and hope that works and if you don't get that player then you hope that you find someone. We're not going to get that type of player, we know that. The intangibles he brings alone are way above anything I suspect I could get.

He already has a budget for other players. If Alfie retires it would just increase.

That is a great idea. A casino there would bring in tons of $$. No dice though?

Why would you want to build a casino in Kanata if you are the OLG or anyone from the city of Ottawa?  Downtown is 100% where it should go and if not there it should be the racetrack for the simple fact it is much more central for everyone.  Melnyk has a crappy piece of land no one wants.  Maybe he can use some back door politics and shaddy dealings to get it done but if it does happen it's BS.

We already got a casino in Hull, which is a stone's throw from Downtown, more or less.  I would rather see it in Kanata as well.  Spruce up this dump.

I don't live in Kanata so why do I give a s***?  That's the last place it should be.

Also, why should Quebec be receiving Ontarians money?  Make that place a ghost town if possible in Hull.

I don't really care one way or the other, but I'd rather have things like casinoes spread out if possible.  South of Hunt Club you got the rideau carleton raceway, then all the east-enders can head to Lac-leamy, and the rest of ottawa near the West could come to Kanata.  Makes sense to me.

I live in Nepean, which is pretty central so I don't also give a shit (I'm more badass than you now)

I don't give a Dung about casinos but anywhere in the city will be a good location. People will come regardless.

Apparently if there is going to be a new casino, it'll be at the race track. The Mayor said as much months ago, so I'm not sure why The Euge is getting his panties in a twist now.

Rideau Carelton would become the casino, that's the point and OLG already owns that land along with the Ontario government.  No way they give Melnyk money to build a casino on his land that he is basically begging people to develop on.  If it was for the CTC it would be a worthless piece of land for the most part and be jammed with condo's and cookie cutter homes.  (I live in a cookie cutter home so it's not an insult, just a fact)

As for the location it should be, it should be DT, simple as that.  Where the majority of people who visit the city are and is central and on the light rail/bus service system for easy access for those who don't have a car.  The other place is Rideau Carelton where is it much more central than Kanata.  There is ZERO reason to build it beside CTC other than Melynk's personal gain. 

This will be politics at it's best.

Camelarri has requested a trade in Calgary.  There's a player who has no value because of his cap hit right now and only a few teams would look to add him.  Trade Da Costa and a 4th for him and the Sens should be laughing if they actually want to add him.

Always liked that guy - despite rumours of him being a dink. Great release, could score a TON of goals here. But is he a MacLean style of player? Don't think so...

If you are talking about the amount of revenue a casino downtown would bring in vs it in Kanata for the city of Ottawa, it isn't even a discussion.  As for the rest, Melnyk, the Sens, and SSE, that's all his personal gain.  I could care less if the Sens don't make a dime on a casino, it changes nothing for the city as whole.  It helps Kanata and Melnyk, that's it.

How many people walk by CTC?  How many people walk by the Parliament?  It's not even close the amount of traffic one has over the other.

I offered Zibanejad + 17th + Ceci + Puempel for Letang on HF. I want soooooo bad. Would love to have permission to talk to him about an extension first obviously.
