Ya I'm on board with this one. Great fit for our system.

Dupuis will get more than he should from some team and I doubt he'll produce as well outside of Pittsburgh.

The problem is that he's 34, so he's getting up there as a player and I could see him wanting a 4 year, big money deal. I bet he gets a minimum of 16 million dollars on his next deal, but I think he fits our system beautifully. 20 goal guy the last two years - and he's a nice defensive conscience for Spezza and would be a nice leader to add.

Plus, I realize he's got 43 points in 90+ playoff games, but he's very clutch I find.

I'm willing to let some of the youngs guys like Noeson/Puemple play part of or a whole season in the AHL before giving up on them...

DaCosta probably goes to Europe or his rights are traded.. I don't think he stays in Bingo...

I can't see them trading Greening... or Smith.

I'm sorry? Who's giving up on them? scratch

I think she means trade them and 'give up on them'. I'm really excited for Noesen. I bet he plays in Ottawa for at least part of the year next year. Great blend of skill and grit.

Dupuis wouldn't be a bad addition, but he'll likely get waaaaay more than he's worth (the Crosby effect).

Briere wouldn't be a bad addition...he's 35, but he still has game. Neither one of these guys really puts us over the top, but they'd be good moves, regardless of what else we do.

We really do need that top line winger. Perry would've been perfect obviously, but that's off the table...Ryan would be nice. The Ducks are right up agains the cap next season, but still don't have to move him.

Dupuis is a good player playing with a great one... Jeff Brown anyone? Any team that signs him is going to be in for a big disappointment aside from Pitt. I think both parties know this and he resigns there.

Briere in Ottawa makes a ton of sense. Adds depth, experience, scoring, and a great playoff performer. By no means is Briere THE move from Ottawa stand point but it's a move that will take a lot of pressure off the kids and they can just go out and play.

Ottawa's real need is a big time scorer. What they are willing to give up to get that I have no idea but there they have 2 first rounders available (this year and next), tons of prospects, and some roster players that a lot of teams would like.

Lots of questions about who the team can trade going forward. They have too many centers right now so who can they deal? IMO Smith is a guy they won't move simply because he has the ability to do all the dirty work and score some goal while doing it. He's the type of guy you win with. Turris was awesome in the playoffs and a lot of the regualr season, only going to get better. Pageau has turned some heads and could make dealing a guy like Zibanejad (who I like and have not written off) for a legit top line winger. Unless they feel Zibanejad will be best served as a winger in the NHL I think he might be the guy they dangle to get that winger they desperatly needs.

Defense and goaltending is basically set aside from a player to maybe replace Gonchar... not sure how they are going to do that, maybe they let the kids fill that spot.

At the end of the day because you have to give to get I can see a deal for Ryan going something like this Zibanejad, 1st rounder, Weircioch. That probably gets Bobby Ryan or any other winger in the NHL that could possibly be traded.

The one guy I don't think you could trade right now is Noesen, he like Smith is the type of guy you win with. Everyone saw how great Gallager was for Montreal, Cooke for Pitt, Brown for LA, etc.

Now is the time to make a move, no question.

Not sure what Derek Roy would expect, but he's an Ottawa boy and Murray like those guys... Yes I know, another C. PMB is another RW option.

Derek Roy doesn't really fit with what we need. PMB isn't a great goal-scored, so he doesn't fit either...plus he's an injury concern.

If Ottawa's going to bring in a true first-line winger, it'll have to be via trade...which will be very tough. In the end, they may end up signing a couple guys to see what works...could end up being Briere + a guy like PMB, who knows?

Roy is about the last guy the Sens need. They have 3 guys that can do what he does now... maybe 4. They need a goal scoring winger, simple as that. It's a big piece to add but a very uncomplicated and very obvious piece as well.

Not Clowe, not Roy, not Rebiero. You are looking at a Ryan, Eriksson, Eberle, maybe a Simmonds if they are desperate.

Simmonds, interesting. But why on Earth would Philly move him? To us, of all teams. We can't help them in goal any more.

Philly is in salary-cap hell, that's why: http://www.capgeek.com/flyers

They are almost $7M over the cap for next season.

Both Zibanejad or Pageau will be dangled in a trade for a first line scorer IMO. Think the org will have to make a decision between the two since I'm pretty sure they're not interested in trading Turris. We need smith still as a 4th line center.

IMO, you have to build now to be able to beat the Bruins and the red wings (and to a certain extent, the leafs) since it will be divisional playoffs next season. That means big bodies and emphasis on physicality. In that case, do you choose a zibby over pageau? Tough decision.

That said, one of the guys to target in the off season if he gets there is Nathan Horton

I'd want Chris Stewart. St. Louis has a lot of guys to resign and with Tarasenko, Schwartz and Rattie on the way I doubt they'll keep all their current forwards.

Of course Stewart had like 1 point in their playoff run so I'm not sure if he's the type of guy.

If you have to choose I'd say Pageau is a keeper. He was noticeable every shift trying to make stuff happen. Perfect for bottom-6 and possibly higher. There's no way they can let him go after that chant against the Habs.

I forgot Zibanejad was even on the roster during the playoffs, except for scoring the best soccer goal in team history.

They will buyout Briere and possibly Bryzgalov. They will be fine.

I would say Pageau is a keeper too. But I bet a lot of teams inquire about him more than zbad especially in a trade for a top line forward.

EDIT: more I think about it, more that might not be true. Zibanejad will have alot of value in a trade. As much if not more than pageau. But again, if you wanna stay big and compete with the bruins and wings, you want a big body like zbad in your lineup. One would hope he takes his physical edge to the next step though

The only way Pageau will get traded now is if it's for a guy like Perry...a legit, perennial all-star winger.

If it's a choice between Zibanejad and Pageau for the organization it's probably an easy one. Peague is everything the organization could want right now and more. He's a better player than Zibanejad, ceiling might not be as high but he fits perfectly into the #3 center role and plays a hard working game. Every team needs those.

Zibanejad still has 1st round value to teams and is going to be hard pressed to find a full time position at center and who knows if he can play the wing... so far he has shown he can't.

We know the team believes in Pageau on top of him being from Ottawa, french, huge playoff, and finding out his size isn't an issue. He was Ottawa's most consistent forward throughout the playoffs. He's the perfect fit on that 3rd line and who knows where he can go from there.

This isn't any kind of hatred or knock to Zibanejad but he may not fit in long term and he has a lot of value after a very solid rookie season. But he's Mike Fisher and not exactly a piece the Sens are struggling to find right now. Smith is also the guy you want on that 4th line that can move up to the 3rd line if need be and is on a very good contract, also plays a game not a lot of others are willing to play.

Spezza/Turris/Pageau/Smith is Ottawa's center ice for the next 5 years barring Spezza retirering or someone coming out of no where to steal another spot.

Mason and someone they will get cheap for FA. No way they continue with Bryz. Makes perfect sense when viewed thru Paul Holmgren glasses. No chance in hell they trade Simmonds.

Don't forget they can put Pronger on LTIR when the season starts. That will give them $5M. They're not as bad as it seems.

Vancouver is royally Cussed.

Pageau is Ottawa's wet dream... no one would blink an eye if Zibanejad was traded and he has a lot more value right now having played a "full" season in the NHL with 2 rounds of playoffs. Pageau is what the organization has been waiting for, for over 20 years. A french kid from the Ottawa area who is a legit NHL player and has people chanting his name. No chance Pageau goes anywhere, none, zero, zilch.
